Happy Father’s Day My Greggie Poo

Today is a very special day for a very special man in my life, Hounz, I mean Greg! Today Greg will be celebrating his very first Father’s Day. Although I’m not showing any signs, I think that I’m actually just as excited about Father’s Day as he is because today will be the first Father’s Day that I’ll get to celebrate too.

Some of you’ve mentioned in the Father’s Day giveaway post, growing up in “broken” homes. From 0 to age 5, I’ve only seen my father a handful of times. I can remember him putting in SOME of the money to buy me a coat, dropping off a $5 bag of Christmas candy, buying me a Game Boy when I asked for a Game Gear, and giving my mother a gallon of milk when she was low on money.

The love that Greg shows for our little man makes up for all of those years that I went through fatherless. I cannot piece together the words to express how fluffy I feel when Greg and Boogie are interacting with each other. I cannot piece together the words to express how fluffy I feel when Greg talks about what he wants for Boogie’s future. Greg deprives himself of sleep to support his family. His ultimate goal is to be able to work from home to be with us. And I don’t have a doubt in my mind that his goal will become reality.

As I type this, Greg and Boogie are watching a movie and I am kind of rushing so that Greg doesn’t see this! He’s so nosey! He’s been tip toeing around the house trying to find his Father’s Day gifts for the past couple of days. I just had to bat him away so that I can get this posted, now Boogie’s crying!

This is a surprise gone bad, lol!

I better stop toying with his emotions. I told him his gift isn’t here yet!

Happy Father’s Day to my Greggie Poo and all of the wonderful Father’s out there. You guys kick major booty!

Greg, look under the black recliner!

Marvellous planning & execution, Sheena! All dads whose kids are too young to offer up even a crayoned card for Father’s Day should be grateful to the spouse or relative who presents items in the infant offspring’s stead. In our case, it was actually Pa’s sis-in-law (his brother’s wife) who sent him a card – from half-way across the globe – entitled “First Da-Da’s Day”.

You make me feel like I haven’t fully appriciated my good ole Pops after reading your sad story. Maybe I feel like if I did talk about him more I’d be bragging and people would think I’m some kind of weirdo.

Greg is great for the love he has for you and Boogie, it’s a beautiful thing! Doesn’t having a kid make you feel so complete? I LOVE it.
