Encourage Your Children To Be The Best Versions Of Themselves

Encouraging your children to be respectful from an early age is important. In addition to this, you will want to start teaching them about race, gender and more. In a study conducted in the United States, a group of school-age children, regardless of age, gender, religion and race, asked what was most important to them at school. Of course, a number of data was received, but the majority of the data said the following information: The most important thing for our children is to be accepted in society.

This is what they invest energy in, this is what they deal with day to day at school and this is what they think about. At any age, feeling accepted is important. But as parents, it seems to us that it is not possible to help our children to be accepted in the classroom from afar. But we have influence and can affect our children in positive ways, and this originates in two words: self-confidence. Parents have the ability to influence the child’s sense of wholeness with themself and those around them, to give them the ability to stand on their own two feet. Learning about gender and race is good early on, to eliminate any problems that they may encounter later down the line. Of course, harmless sexist jokes can be funny when used in the right circumstances but for kids, they should be aware of the words they speak to others.

The same applies to religion. As children grow up, they naturally become curious about the world around them. This includes asking questions about religion. While this can be a sensitive topic, it is important for you to provide their children with accurate information about different religions. One way to do this is to enroll them in a children’s ministry curriculum at their church or religious organization. This will ensure that they receive age-appropriate instruction from trusted adults. Another option is to invite religious leaders from different faith communities to speak to your children about their beliefs. By providing your children with accurate information and exposure to different religious traditions, you can help them avoid religious discrimination.

Building self-confidence

Self-confidence lies, among other things, in identifying the child’s strengths. Strengths express our child’s creativity also and indicate what they are good at sports, cooking, arts, theatre, music. Strengths become such when nurtured and strengthened. If you want to raise a successful child who feels good about themself and their actions, it is worthwhile and desirable to help them identify the most dominant strengths that allow them to integrate them into their life and express them in what they do. When they realize that every child is different and that it is normal to be this way, they will develop further empathy which will serve them well. They will be aware that some children are exploring their gender or that some children are a different race and color and that it is all OK. it is all part of a very mixed and beautiful world.

Steps to take

As a mother or father, you have a great deal of power in your hands to give your child an amazing start in life. Using the following simple steps:

  1. Make a list of three strengths that you believe your child has, and add specific examples of how this strength is reflected in his or her life.
  2. Take a minute or two to ask them what they think their strengths are and what they like about themselves.
  3. Ask the child to choose from the two lists the three most important strengths for them.
  4. Make sure your child engages in activities that reflect his or her strengths, and if not, help him or her find such activities.
  5. Most importantly – paragon and positive reinforcement.
