Last Christmas, Greg’s mom got him set of clippers. I think I was more excited about the set than he was. We live in an area where ethnic hair salons and barbers are scarce. The nearest suitable barber is 30 minutes away. Haircuts are not cheap, gas isn’t either. And his hair grows back, really fast. So factor in the frequent hassle of trips to the barber, cost of gas, and cost of haircuts. For a while, he was walking around here looking like a caveman. I could.not.stand.it.
One day, we sat down and watched a few videos on YouTube and the caveman look was history. I am his official barber. I cut his hair and he shaves his face.
I rock teh clippers.

You did a great job, Sheena!
I give my hubby and son their haircuts during the summer and recently started trimming our neighbor girls hair. Just an extra way for this mama to save some $$!
Dang girl! I always end up cutting my boys forehead. Years ago, I had to become mama barber. I could do a nice little bald fade. But I am so out of practice. My DH just shaves his head, but my boys hair grows back pretty fast. My oldest likes a taper fade. The guy behind us cuts for just $5 only on Fridays, but I can’t motivate my son to get up and go.
**** note to self**** make him go Friday
Sheena, that’s awesome. My friend is actually looking for a barber for her son around here…. you going to open up shop??

@tanyetta, now to get the waves back!
I think it looks great, way better than my husband does on his own head. Like your problem, my husband can’t find a barber that does the job right and it does get expensive.
Now I just wish he’d sweep up his own puffs of hair on the floor when he cuts it.

@Cat @ 3 Kids and Us, the DC31 works wonderfully on puff balls ;).
Girl, Dwayne has always cut his own hair since junior high school! With 3 kids he still does it and even cuts Willie’s hair. Every so often he goes to the barber shop for a treat. We live in an area where there is nothing but ethnic hair shops! haha :) You did a great job on Greg. I hope he tipped you!

@Sheliza, LOL – he tipped me with a massage ;).
It looks great! Isn’t it nice to have a set of your own clippers? We have a set that we use on our son. He screams bloody murder whenever his hair is being cut, so we do it ourselves, rather than subject some poor stylist to the stress and trauma of it.
