This Fourth of July was relaxing. It wasn’t overly thought out, just a day of grilling, play, and wows (what Jayden calls fireworks). Jayden and the neighbor’s kids played outside and shared toys. We were able to enjoy the fireworks from home. It was so convenient since we didn’t have to lug cameras, snacks, and chairs to the show.
I think next year, we’ll add parading to our holiday celebration; maybe some sparklers and pop rocks. And I’ll continue baking sweets; for every occasion since celebrations are THAT much better when there’s a festive delight on the table. I’m gradually working on these things called traditions…
So how was your Fourth of July?

I read and value each and every comment and I visit those who comment... even if I don't comment back. I'm working on it, I swear! Stuff you should know *ehehm*: So... sometimes companies send me items of interest in exchange for a feature on my blog. Some also compensate me for my time and efforts creating content to promote them. Yay! I always disclose if I have a relationship with a company. If I don't disclose a relationship with a company and I link to them, then the link is most likely an affiliate link. I use a plugin that automatically does this for me. Cool huh? Just want to make sure we are clear, okay? Read my full disclosure policy

Cat, I'm sorry the kids were unamused, lol.
Thanks!
I didn't get to see any fireworks this year, so instead, my family and I came together for a small bbq and some fun in the pool with the kids. This is one 4th of July that I have genuinely enjoyed in years.
Beautiful cake!

Thanks, hope your 4th was a fun one :).
You are so lucky. I wish I could see fireworks from our house! We only had to drive about 10 minutes though. All in all it was a pretty good day :)

10 minutes is not so bad. Glad y'all had a great 4th.
Wow…you guys had a great time on the 4th. we didn't do too much (barely saw the fireworks) and my dad (the big griller guy) was out of town. We did our best to enjoy it. Next year round, I will work on those festivities, like you mentioned :-)

Next year we'll def do more. I'm already planning Christmas, lol.
So glad to see your 4th of July was relaxing. I wish I could say the same for mine but it wasn't too terrible. It seems our kids get bored rather easily, especially when it comes to fireworks.
Your cake is beautiful!
