Preparing For Halloween: Decor

When it comes to decorating for Halloween, we don’t do much. We tend to do more for Autumn and Christmas, since we can keep the decorations up longer. This year, we did pick up a few decorations to add some Halloween flare to our autumn decor. With all seasonal decorations, we collect here and there as we find great deals.

From Goodwill, I was able to find this illuminated Jack-O-Lantern for $3. It retails for $7 or so at Target. I find that illuminated items are fun and easy to work with. I am not creative when it comes to stringing lights and things, so I really love this. All I had to do was attach by suction cup.

At Walmart, we grabbed pumpkins and a pumpkin carving kit. The pie pumpkin was less than $3 and the large pumpkin was less than $4. Greg plans on carving the larger pumpkin with the $4 carving kit and I’ll roast the seeds inside for a yummy treat. After Halloween, I’ll use the pie pumpkin to bake with since canned pumpkin is so hard to find this time of the year. Any other year, I wouldn’t have thought to do this.

I also grabbed this paper Happy Halloween banner for $2. I really wanted to do some paper bat crafts, but I’ve been too busy to craft without interruption. This was a great value since I would have had to purchase construction paper, clear string, and invest time and energy creating something.

As you can see, it doesn’t take much product, effort, or funds for us to decorate for Halloween. Do you decorate for Halloween? What are some things that you’ve done this year to achieve Halloween for less?

I am a participant in the Walmart Moms program.  Join me and my fellow Walmart Moms (Domestic DivaWholesome MommyFrugal UpstateMommyBrain ReportsChic Shopper ChickConsumer QueenA Cowboy’s WifeLille Punkin, and Being Frugal) as we try to have the best Halloween for less at Walmart.  Walmart has provided me with compensation to creatively blog about Halloween Savings at Walmart.  Participation in this program is voluntary. As always, all opinions are my own.

Although this post is sponsored, it pertains to my life which is why I chose to publish it through the non-sponsored feed.

We sure are! I wish I could get the fresh seeds undried in bulk. I love how they taste homemade, but it takes so many pumpkins to get enough seeds!
