Halloween: Now You See it, Now You Don’t.

This post should have been published on November 1st. But because I wanted to include a video I planned to edit, I postponed publishing. I never got around to editing the video. I’ll slip it in here some day. #timewaitsfornoone

065Halloween has come and gone. I’m a little whiplashed from the process. We prepared for Halloween with some simple decorations and treats. We scored Jayden’s Vampire costume on post-Halloween clearance and my Crayon costume was a sent courtesy of Star Costumes. I would like to keep up with our frugal routine by buying Jayden’s costume for next year now, but I’m afraid he’d be more opinionated by then. I can’t help but grab one just in case, I mean costumes are 50% off! If he doesn’t like it, I can give it away or donate it.

Last Friday, we took Jayden trick-or-treating in our community. Many businesses are organizations handed out candy, which is very clever for marketing and of course safer than the kids going door to door in the dark. Jayden seemed to have a good time, taking it all in as it was his first time trick-or-treating. On Halloween day, Jayden and I went to the Mickey Magic Show with Michelle, Jen and Jonah, but we were unable to take pictures! It was another day of observation for Jayden. He was very calm and seemed to enjoy the show. He may have been a little more active if he had gone to sleep on time the night before. Story for another post.

We had about twenty trick-or-treaters stop by. Greg assumed we wouldn’t have any trick-or-treaters because we didn’t last year. But um last year, we didn’t have a brightly lit pumpkin in our window or the porch light turned on either. I won that argument ;).

Glad Jayden had a great time! I am totally with you on the frugal living. We will have William dress up next year and partake in trick-or-treat. :)
