Walmart’s Marketside Meal Solutions

In this post, I mentioned some unique food sampling opportunities. Among those opportunities, were four days of Walmart’s Marketside meal solutions shipped to our door! Talk about a life saver! Through Marketside’s partnership with leading chefs, bakers, and farmers, they are able to provide the best fresh foods made from all-natural ingredients at affordable prices at Walmart.

Take a look at what was on our menu:

Tuesday: Take & Bake Pizza & Salad

In this shipment, we received a selection of 12″ thin crust pizzas and salad kits. The pizzas were so yummy and fresh. They reminded me of California Pizza Kitchen. The salads were delicious and conveniently packed with all the fixins: lettuce, croutons, and dressing. This dinner comes together for $2 per person.

Wednesday: Fresh Soup & Artisan Bread Night

In this shipment, we received a selection of delicious soups, mini artisan loaves, and a full sized loaf. The Loaded Baked Potato Soup? OH EM GEE. I must come find a clone recipe because it is just that good. Another favorite was the Cheddar Broccoli Soup. The breads were very tasty too. I’m definitely getting myself a breadmaker so I can bake some Artisan loaves of my own. This dinner comes together for $1.75 per person.

Thursday: Gourmet Pasta Dinner

In this shipment, we received a selection of fresh pastas, fresh pasta sauces, and steam ready veggies. Yes, we were in carb heaven for the week. Greg and I loved the Three Cheese Tortelloni and other cheese stuffed pastas. The veggies, we froze for later dinners. I may make a bread using the Butternut Squash. This dinner comes together for $2.75 per person.

Friday: Fresh Dips for Entertaining

This shipment contained a VERY generous selection of hummus, vegetable dips, fruit dips, and guacamole. Jayden loves dipping chips, so the guacamole dips were much enjoyed. He also thought the Vanilla Bean Fruit Dip was yogurt, so we let him eat it by spoon *giggle*. The Vanilla Bean Fruit Dip reminded me of vanilla bean ice cream and cream cheese. The flavor was definitely indulgent. Serving these dips costs about $1 per person.

We are very pleased with the Marketside’s meal solutions. They really ARE fresh and are of gourmet quality. I could not stop thinking about bringing Marketside meals to get-togethers and brunches. They’d be a hit for sure.

Marketside can be found in the Produce and Deli aisles of your local Walmart. Use the store locator to find out if your local Walmart carries Marketside products.

Have you tried Marketside yet? What are your thoughts?

Spencer, I didn’t think to blanch the veggies. I totally forgot to. Oh well, they’ll be good in stew!

Thanks for the great review. I’m glad you like them as much as we do. Our chefs have been working for 2 years on the line.

One note – make sure to blanch your vegetables before you freeze them. That will make sure you have the best results and don’t end up with “squishy” vegetables after you pull them out of the freezer.

    Happy eating!

I have not gotten to try the convenience food items but will take a look next time I grocery shop there. I have been finding myself in Walmart at least 4 times per week! EEK!

These look great! My local Walmart only has the frozen pizzas. I will check other locations.
