Shutterfly Holiday Cards: So Many Choices

November 30, 2010 · Tech & Photography · leave a comment

As a designer, I simply can’t make up my mind. I’m always tweaking things here and there, swapping things out, and moving things around. When it comes to ordering something graphic or detailed, I stare and stare at my favorites knowing I can only choose one, wanting more than just one style. I know I said I’d go with Snapfish for Holiday photo cards, but now I’m over at Shutterfly looking at their selection of holiday cards. I’ve narrowed my choices down to these three designs in case I decide to use my Snapfish gift card to print photos instead. ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

And the winner is… Some Lucky Dog! Congrats! I talk a lot about post-holiday sales. I always like to prepare for holidays by purchasing holiday themed goodies when they go on clearance. Last year, I purchased boxes of holiday greeting cards on super sale and we’ll be using them this season. I always make a habit of including a holiday photo or photo cards in with our greeting cards, so this year we’re having 4×8 cards made courtesy of the folks at Snapfish! She and I will be taking each other’s family portraits for our cards. I can’t wait to ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Art Every Day: Repurposed Crayons

Repurposed Crayons

While doing my Thanksgiving cooking last Sunday, I decided to get a little crafty. We had done some serious house tidying since we were toddler-free. I had been picking up broken crayons from every nook of the house. Frustrated, I began tossing them in the trash. Quite often, I tend to start tossing things that become a problem (physical & virtual). I caught myself, though, dug the crayons out the waste basket and set the rest of the broken crayons I gathered aside for an easy DIY project. Greg peeled the paper off of the broken crayons for me and ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

My IKEA BYGEL Setup!

Greg and I had a chance to finally put up my IKEA BYGEL goodies last week. Here they are! I LOVE IT! Preparing meals just got *that* much easier! I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the BYGEL dish drainer yet. I need a shorter rail to put over the kitchen sink in order to use it. Now, I just need a kitchen island on wheels! Strainer and tongs will be moved once we re-hang our pot rack. Ignore the hideous stove hood (gonna see about spray painting that soon) and the dishwasher water spotted utensils.

Tri-ply Clad 18/10 Stainless Steel

And the winner is… Rachel Crisman (meeyeehere)! Congrats! On Thanksgiving, it’s great taking home leftovers when we visit with family, but in our house, there’s no way those leftovers would last for as long as we’d like them to. So, I always do my own cooking, making a few extra dishes we really enjoy. With the help of my new Better Homes and Gardens Stainless Steel Cookware Set, I did my Thanksgiving cooking last Sunday in perfect housewife style and froze it all up for when we returned home from visiting with family. I’ve never cooked with stainless steel cookware ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

And the winner is… Joanna! Congrats! We rarely purchase frozen meals, but they sure do come in handy on those days when I don’t feel like cooking from scratch. Shamefully, I haven’t been doing the best in the cooking department, but luckily a few unique food sampling opportunities came my way and kept Greg and I fed during my time of slacking (Jayden’s on his own menu). I had the opportunity to sample Marie Callender’s new Multi-Serve Bakes. They cook up in the microwave in about 15 minutes and taste straight from the oven. Offered are six savory comfort food ...
