Twelve Fourteen Twenty-Ten

12.14.2010I stand before

the perfect example of what a husband should be.

In what seems to be a season of divorce.

(I do not judge.)

In our local courthouse, no witness.

Not in the fancy banquet hall, in front of an audience, wearing that snazzy tux and puffy dress.

The glitz and glam are miniscule, I’m so reassured.

After 10 years, we seem to have this love thing on lock.

My fairytale has come true.

Congrats! My husband and I married on 12/13/07, in my parents’ living room with just a few members of my family present. It was lovely. (Don’t you love saying, “My husband”? I get such a kick out of that even though I’ve had three years of saying it.)

Thanks and congrats to you in hubby! It’s wonderful just celebrating with a small group, but at this point, we were ready to “get er done” without any planning or stress of any kind! Family asked about having a small reception, we kindly declined.

It feels so funny to me, lol. “My Husband” Ha!

  • I’ve said it on Facebook and I’ll say it again, Congratulations! I’m SO happy for you. I look forward to watching you and Greg grow even more together as a married couple.

    Take care,

May you have a long, wonderful marriage and the best of times with your new hubby. You guys’ story reminds me so much of my husband and I :)

Congratulations! Regardless of the type of ceremony or fanfare, what is most important is the LOVE you two profess for one another and demonstrate each day. Blessings on the official thang :)

How beautiful and congratulations. My fiancé and I will be skipping off someday one day this year and we will do the same thing. You don’t need a ‘day’ to show your love or share your love with family and friends, go into debt, stress out….I always have believed when you get married, its between you, your beloved, and God (or whatever higher power one believes in). Reading your blog really made me feel like you really get it!! Here’s wishing you a forever of that love thing!!!

Gina, congrats on your engagement! There are so many more important things to spend money on like healthcare, your home, other living expenses, and maybe a honeymoon trip since you bypassed the ceremony expenses. Simple is the way to go!! :)

So true… you don’t need the big wedding and all the fancy trimmings. Those things don’t last. All you need is your love because that’s what’ll last. Yay for love and strong, successful marriages. I pray for that one day :-)
