Last week, I had the opportunity to do a little shopping for myself (courtesy of Discovery Clothing). It was exciting to say the least since I’m always shopping for the little one. When I shop, I shop discount stores and clearance only. Retail is not in my vocabulary. I headed out to Schaumburg, IL to check out Discovery Clothing‘s newest store. I haven’t been in a Discovery Clothing store in years, but I remember their prices being insanely affordable, so I was eagar to revist. Oh my goodness… the Schaumburg store was huge! I could easily spend a few hundred bucks in there and rack up, especially since they receive new shipments every day. But during this trip, I stuck to my $50 budget. I actually spent $45.
I always start my shops by going to the clearance racks. I have to get while the getting’s good before I venture off into the regular racks. I found a cute chevron skirt for $6.99 and a striped skirt for $4.99, but I put them back because I wanted to shop for one-piece outfits that were different from what I’d usually buy. And I didn’t want to report back here with a bunch of random finds, but you better believe I’ll be heading back to that clearance rack and basic tee/tank rack. I saw some tees and tanks for $3-$5 that I can pair with some lonely skirts. I ended up getting one thing from the clearance rack though, an Ikat jumpsuit for $8.99! I also picked up my very first floppy hat for $8.99 (a little destination inspiration), a Turquoise Maxi Dress for $10.99 and an Orange Jumper Dress for $12.99. Greg actually suggested that I should buy it :-).
I had my eye on those Wild Rose Peacock Platform Sandals *points up*. They were either $16 or $19. I added them to my Wishpot just in case I can’t find them when I return. I know good and well walking in them will be a struggle, but they are so fly. Below are some photos of me modeling my new digs fresh out the shopping bag. Everything accommodates and complements tiny human comfortably. I’m so happy with my purchases! Continue scrolling for a chance to win $50 to Discovery Clothing… I just have to share the wealth!
