Shopping for school supplies doesn’t have to seem like a really hard math test. Each year, my local Walmart puts out supply lists from all the schools for parents to grab. Additionally, they have started putting the lists online at classrooms.walmart.com. Classrooms by Walmart is a tool that lets teachers and parents team up to create school supply lists. The lists are specific to each classroom to make sure children get everything they need for the school year at Walmart’s everyday low prices.
Classrooms by Walmart operates like a gift registry. Teachers create lists and parents buy the requested items for their children. They can also choose to donate items to classrooms as well (love this!). School supplies from classroom lists can be ordered online and then shipped to home, school, or picked up in store. There’s also an option to print a shopping list to be used in store.
In the event that a school is not listed, parents can shop supply lists created by Walmart or make their own like I did. We are all over the place with house/preschool hunting. The school that we will be touring doesn’t have a list published, so I made a homeschooling list since we plan on doing that in addition to sending him to school a few hours a week. I named our school Tatum Family Homeschool, classroom Blue Jay… for obvious reasons ;-). Take a look at our our classroom list. There are some custom items I added to the list, so it may take a while for them to show up as Walmart has to approve them.
I went out and bought some of the items on our list. Check out what I got for $43! We are so excited to dig into them all!
How do you receive your children’s school supply lists? Will you be using Classrooms by Walmart this year?
I am a member of the Walmart Moms program. Walmart is compensating me for sharing my experience with Classrooms by Walmart. My participation is voluntary and all words and opinions are always my own.
