Guest Post: Create a Beautiful Bathroom for Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day nearly upon us I’ve seen quite a few people asking the same question; how can our homes reflect this romantic holiday? We seem to go all out during the Christmas holidays so why should this day be any different?

When it comes to decorating your interiors for the Valentine theme, buying pink curtains may seem a little OTT, yet why not try a more subtle approach with a few love themed accessories for bathroom. To help create that ‘Love’ decor, here are a few of my top tips…

Try replacing your regular hand soap with a pink or red equivalent. To go even further, pick up a heart shaped bar, but remember to make sure they offer an inviting scent. Mixing together different colours and shapes can create a stunning artistic arrangement, for a very low cost.

Get a little crafty and fill a clear glass jar with long, thin, pink, white and red candles. Not only will this create an eye catching centre piece but also provides great ambient lighting to create the perfect mood! To top it all off, add a large red ribbon tied in a bow, whilst scattering around a few heart shaped sprinkles (Maybe even rose petals for those true romantics).

Heart shaped wreaths are simple to create and look stunning hung upon the bathroom door. Add a few roses and ribbons to increase that ‘wow’ factor!

If you really want to go the extra mile, then try swapping your shower curtain and bath mat. If you don’t want to scare your man off completely with an overload of pink, then opt for a more subtle cream coloured curtain, with a few hints of this girls shade.

Replacing your regular towels with a few white and red, his and hers options really is effortless. For those more daring, why not try your hand at a little towel origami to create stunning heart shapes (or maybe even a swan) to really impress your other half and bring back a few romantic holiday memories!

Finally, don’t forget to fill your bath with hot water, scented bubble bath and a few scattered rose petals… Then close the door and enjoy your romantic bath time bliss!
