This one time at bandcamp, I had a tanning mishap…

It is a misconception that brown people cannot become sunburn. Obviously, I am of the lighter variety, but I was under that impression long ago… well not that long ago. But anyway… The summer before my freshman year of high school, I had to undergo the torture that is bandcamp. I had no idea of what it entailed, and I marched my butt to this week long camp with no SPF. We were out in the field from the crack of dawn (slightly exaggerated) until evening, breaking for meals of course. After the countless hours of direct exposure to the sun, I was a toasty brown… the darkest I have ever been.

Now… the fact that I had gotten so dark in such a short amount of time was no problem. I was certainly shocked, but the real problem is that my poor skin was exposed to harsh rays with no SPF and no aloe after being in the sun. The first week of my freshman year of high school, my skin peeled, peeled, and peeled some more. Peeling and dusting skin off of my arms in class was not how I imagined my first days of high school. Talk about embarrassing!

Fast forward to now… I love spending time in the sun and I dig a great natural glow. I think that a nice tan tells a tale of how eventful your summer has been. So I bask in the sun whenever I have the chance and I never take SPF and aloe for granted! HAHA! I do, from time to time, use my some of my guilty pleasures to enhance my tan… Jergens Natural Glow. I discovered the line in ’07 and haven’t been able to quit it, but that is all I will share today.
