Have you had your annual eye exam? I did!

It’s been approximately a year since my last eye exam for glasses. Since I am blind as a bat… I’m talking under -8.00 in each eye, I try to stay on top of my eye health. This Wednesday, I had an appointment with Walmart’s Vision Center. I’ve gone to Walmart for eye care for years because of convenience and price. Even if I don’t order their glasses, I still use them for quick exams. When I walked in for my exam, I was seen immediately. I began a series of 3 tests; the glaucoma test, retina scan, and peripheral test. I had trouble during the peripheral test. I had to take it THREE times for my left eye, which turns out to have gotten worse, but my right eye stayed the same. After the series of testing with the Optician, I saw the Optometrist for additional testing which included reading the eye chart.

$28 Frames

Within minutes I was checking out new frames. I immediately fell in love with a brown and turquoise (my fav color combo) frame for $28! I was open to spending a little more if I needed to, so I let the Optician style me, lol. He had me trying on all kinds of frames even from the kids section since my face is so small. After trying on at least 10 frames, I couldn’t quite find a pair that fit me like my first choice; the brown and turquoise frame. Sidenote: Did you know Apple Bottoms made frames? Really though? *giggle*

On an additional note, did you know Walmart now carries Equate brand 1-day disposable contact lenses? They are only $30 for a 30-day supply, perfect for tweens/teens who are new to wearing contacts. Walmart also offers reduced prices on contact lens brands such as; Acuvue Oasys, Air Optix Aqua, Acuvue Moist, Acuvue 2 (2 weeks), and Biofinity. My local Walmart will price match Sam’s Club. When I went in for contacts last year, the Optician was nice enough to mention it. I saved quite a bit on my year supply of lenses.

Anywho. My experience at Walmart’s Vision Center was great as usual. I was in and out. Had I not tried on so many frames for the heck of it, I would have been out sooner. It was fun though :-). My new glasses will be ready on March 11th March 2nd. I can’t wait!
