I recently shared our experience with Beneforté broccoli and I hosted a giveaway to share Beneforté broccoli with you. For an entry, I asked you all to tell me how you enjoy your broccoli cooked. So many of you mentioned eating broccoli with cheese, steamed, or in a stir-fry. Clearly, most of you guys and gals like your broccoli cooked. Since no one mentioned eating it raw, I was inspired to create a delicious smoothie recipe to share using raw broccoli.
We are in the midst of cold/flu season and it’s especially important to eat nutrient rich foods. Each serving of Beneforté broccoli contains 2-3 times the amount of phytonutrient glucoraphanin compared to other broccoli varieties when produced under similar growing conditions. Glucoraphanin boosts the body’s antioxidant enzyme levels, which helps maintain the antioxidant activity of vitamins A, C and E. Beneforté broccoli sounds like the perfect candidate for a smoothie, right? Well continue reading for the recipe and another yummy giveaway!
