Walmart is becoming a one stop shop for… everything. Did you know that they now sell mattresses? They sure do. New and exclusive to Walmart, the Simmons Beautyrest Studio is part of a selection of mattresses that can now be found in Walmart stores. We were sent a queen-sized to try and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Our mattress of three years had become uncomfortable, most notably during my pregnancy with Jaxon. I could never understand why people preferred firm mattresses until I started to struggle getting out of bed. Our old mattress wasn’t very firm so at night, we’d sink in and in the morning. Me having a bad back, would especially wake up so stiff, barely able to get out of bed… even 9 months after baby.
So when offered a new mattress, I did a happy dance.
Our new Beautyrest mattress arrived vacuum sealed in a box. The box even had wheels on the bottom to make it easier to transport. Since our last mattress arrived similarly packed, it didn’t bother me that it was packed in a box. Since mattresses are typically sold and delivered as is, it’s only natural to be taken aback a bit though. After breaking the vacuum seal, our mattress was ready in just a few minutes.
Immediately, thereafter, we put the mattress to the test. We noticed it was a tad shorter than our previous mattress since it didn’t have a pillowtop. Not a problem since my main concern was comfort and the pillowtop was more than likely the culprit of our aches and stiffness. When we laid down, we noticed how much firmer it was compared to our old mattress. Score! According to the product description, the pocketed coils conform for support and the plush foams inside facilitate pressure relief. Just what I needed.
We’ve been sleeping on the Beautyrest Studio mattress for a month and have noticed less body aches and I’ve been able to get out of bed without having to page Life Alert. LOL. The Beautyrest Studio is a simple, no frills mattress that makes bedtime a little less complicated and more comfortable. Snag it at Walmart for $199-$349 with free shipping.
