Call me spoiled rotten but having grown up on the West Coast of Florida I literally got a chance to see some of the most beautiful beaches in the world on a daily basis. Yes, it’s hot here. Yes there are bugs for a moth or two in the summer, but what you give up because of a little humidity you instantly get back the minute you stroll along one of these beaches. As far as I’m concerned the best area of Florida is from Clearwater up near Tampa down south to Naples.
Right in the middle of the area I described is a small town called Fort Myers. When I say small it’s just small enough to have that small town feel but large enough for you to get everything that you need without having to travel outside of the city. I currently live on the East Coast of South Florida but make my way to Fort Myers pretty regularly to see my parents. They just officially retired to Fort Myers after finding an incredible little Fort Myers Golf Community called Verandah. It was developed and is managed by a home builder called Kolter Homes. They have a solid reputation and pride themselves in Creating Better Communities.
My folks moved into one of their newest communities in Verandah. It’s called Fairway Cove at Verandah. I was there for opening weekend and what a success? There must have been over 500 people who came out to tour the community and get a glimpse into the 100% pure Florida lifestyle. I told my parents with all of these people drooling over this new little community, my parents were lucky that they got in early. I dream of retiring in a similar community some day. It’s such a gem.
