2020 has been one heck of a year. It’s the year the world almost stopped and everybody had to remain at home. We hope you took care of yourself. As we head into 2021, we thought we’d share a few skincare tips to help you prepare for the New Year.

Go Easy on the Long Baths

A hot water bath is relaxing. But did you know it can extract essential oils from your skin? To keep your skin healthy and glowing, don’t be in the shower for too long. Limit the bath time to less than 30 minutes. If you must stay in the bathroom for a long time, use warm water instead of hot.

Moreover, the soap you use can affect your skin badly. Don’t use harsh soaps because they can dry out your skin and rob it of essential oils. Goat milk soap, for instance, is made with goat milk, which is rich in fats and proteins that can help to moisturize and nourish your skin. In addition, goat milk contains lactic acid, which can help to exfoliate dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling softer and smoother.

Aloe vera soap, on the other hand, is made with aloe vera gel, which is a natural source of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an important nutrient for healthy skin, as it helps to protect against free radical damage. While both goat milk soap and aloe vera soap offer a number of benefits for your skin, you may prefer one over the other depending on your individual needs and preferences. Stick to friendly ingredients like a lemon face wash and cream scrub.

Don’t Go Out in the Sun

Too much sunlight can wrinkle your skin. If you must stay out in the sun, apply sunscreen. In addition, remember to reapply the sunscreen every two hours.

According to science, human beings need sunlight because it’s a source of vitamin D. The best time to enjoy the sun is when it’s least intense; that’s before eleven in the morning and after four in the evening. Get the timing right to avoid skin damage.

Keep Your Skin Moisturized

To enhance your skin’s appearance, you should keep it moisturized. Invest in gentle lotions and sprays to avoid skin irritations. Don’t purchase lotions with strong fragrances because they can be uncomfortable.

The best time to apply lotion is after you get out of the shower and at night before you go to bed. Another way to keep your skin moisturized is to stay hydrated. Drink lots of water to prevent your skin from drying.

Healthy Diet

As you go into 2021, remember to eat healthily. Your diet influences all parts of your body. When it comes to the skin, you need more omega-3 to increase your skin’s ability to retain moisture. Therefore, eat more oily fish and limit your intake of complex carbohydrates.

Consuming more vegetables reduces puffiness and oxygenates your skin to give it a more youthful appearance.

Don’t be Stressed

Your body reacts when you feel bad about yourself. Those negative emotions can cause skin problems. Therefore, do your best to remain calm. Avoid overthinking and sadness. Be thankful for your life and what you have; it could be money, family, or both. Engage in healthy habits like reading and exercising. These activities will keep you occupied and prevent you from procrastinating.

Then, make sure you get enough sleep. Go to bed early and sleep for at least six hours. You can also have afternoon naps. As you rest, nobody should disturb you.

Your Hands Shouldn’t Touch your Face

Maintain the same discipline of keeping your hands away from your face next year. Your hands pick up all sorts of bacteria from the environment. When you touch your face, you transfer those microorganisms there. These bacteria can cause skin problems and acne.

To conclude, taking care of your skin is good for your self-esteem. It will bolster your confidence and make you want to be around your friends. Use the above tips to preserve your skin and keep it healthy and moisturized.
