Out And About With The Urbini Touri Travel System

It’s no secret that I’m a babywearing advocate, but sometimes you just need a stroller… especially when your baby weighs a solid 25lbs. We have a jogging stroller that we use around the neighborhood. It’s what I like to call our Cadillac stroller; big bodied, large all terrain wheels. It definitely has some bulk to it, so it doesn’t travel well. There’s absolutely no way I’d take it to tight or busy places like the airport or shopping plaza.

With traveling in the near future, it was time to find a smaller, more functional stroller for on-the-go situations. We were able to get our hands on the Urbini Touri Travel System, an ultra-compact umbrella stroller and infant seat duo. The stroller features are similar to those found in our jogger, only it’s lighter, compact, and easier to fold and unfold.

Jaxon is a big boy now, so he’s too mobile and heavy to use an infant seat. However, the Urbini Petal rear-facing seat does have some pretty great features. The seat itself is very well made. The fabric and padding are high quality and while the seat only weighs 8lbs, it’s a very sturdy seat. I will say that I’ve seen some flimsy seats. This is a good one. The car seat also comes with a preemie insert and base which features a big red leaver that makes removing the seat a breeze. The car seat fits right into the Touri stroller where the both sun visors of the seat and stroller can be let down for ultimate sun protection.

The Touri stroller’s compact design makes it very easy to fold, unfold, and carry around. It features a handle on the side of the stroller which makes it easy to transport to and from our trunk. Unfolding the Touri is a cinch. Simply unlock the latch on the lower right side of the stroller, pull the stroller up by the handles, and step down on the red lever to lock the stroller in position.

The Touri has a generous storage basket for a compact stroller.  The seat reclines to multiple positions so Jaxon can sit up and be nosy or sit back and relax. The window on the sun visor allows us to check on him while the visor is in use. Other great features include 5-point safety harness with comfort pads and removable child’s arm bar. I love that the harness straps don’t cut into Jaxon’s neck and shoulders. The arm bar is a favorite of his. He likes to prop his feet up on it as well as use it for its intended purpose. Oh, there’s a removable cup holder as well, but it wiggles off in the trunk. The same happens to our jogging stroller.

I had great hopes of sharing our experience with the Touri at Mom 2.0 Summit, buuuut I left it in our coat closet. You can imagine how distraught I was over having to wear a 25 pounder the entire trip, but we survived. As a consolation, I do have a video of the Touri in action during one of our morning walks.

The Urbini Touri is available exclusively at Walmart. You can’t beat the price of $149.00 for such a stylish stroller AND car seat pair. I personally would opt for the peacock or lime and black colorway. That obviously doesn’t affect the functionality of the pair, but I liiiive for pops of color. It’s all good, though. If you have an eye for design, you’ll love the Omni as well. Check it out, it’s amazing.
