I’m Sheena and this my personal blog. Through this blog I intend on achieving zen by sharing a little of me, my hobbies, and my passions. I’ve been blogging since 2001. I’ll probably blog well into my golden years. After becoming overwhelmed with running my parenting blog with my other half for 2 years, I decided to go back to the basics; personal blogging. In other words, that blog is done for. It will stay online, but our hearts aren’t in it anymore. Maybe sometime in the future, that will change.
That said, I’m a twenty-something mama to toddler, ham, and lover boy, Jayden Elijah (Boogie), fiancée to my Junior High sweetheart, Greg. I’m obsessed with anything that contributes to better living. I strive to maintain a happy and healthy family. That is my number one priority. I’m easy going. I’m quiet. I’m quirky. I’m goofy. I’m observant. I giggle. I’m a free spirit. I’m not here to pretend that life’s picture perfect. We don’t skip through sunny meadows. We break things when playing ball in the house, get angry, and laugh at weird stuff. Oh, and we live in the Chicagoland region (for event purposes).
What would you wear for camouflage if you were hiding in a gingerbread house?

Parenting Tidbits
We’re all about going with the flow and what feels natural. I breastfeed Jay until he self weened at 18 months. We co-slept for 21 months before attempting to switch to the toddler bed. We cloth diaper and we use chlorine-free disposables. Sometimes we use cloth wipes. We’re a babywearing family too. The Ergo, Boba, and Sleepywrap have served us well. Jayden has eczema, so his skin can get very dry. We strive to use natural products on his skin whenever possible. We’re on a journey to greening our lifestyle. You may hear a lot about that here, eventually.
Um, what is Sophistishe? Better yet, how do you pronounce it?
Sophistishe (suh-fis-ti-shee) stands for sophisticated Sheena or she is sophisticated. Ever heard of the style SophistiChic? I know, I watch too much HGTV. I came up with this name when I was 18. My old blog had Angelic in the title. As I started to mature, I craved a new blog name and audience to reflect this. Now I don’t claim to be the maturest by any means. Maturing is a process #justsayin. I’m still trying to adjust to this thing called Womanhood. Surprisingly, Motherhood wasn’t so hard.
