I’m Sheena, Chicago mom to Jayden, aka Boogie, wife to my junior high sweetheart, Greg. I’ve been blogging since 2001 and have been trying to turn the hobby into a business ever since. I got my “big break” after starting mommydaddyblog.com (now a collection of my works) with my husband after learning we were expecting our first child. Through that adventure we were able to establish a readership and partnerships with respectable brands that continue to flourish.
I have now moved on to this here blog, Sophistishe (suh-fis-ti-shee). Sophistishe is a play off of the SophistiChic decorating style. Sophistishe stands for sophisticated Sheena or she is sophisticated. Sophistishe is my personal journey to find zen in being human. Using my passion for photography, I often share a mix of family stories and random, quirky, introverted thoughts of mine.
I am a self-taught web/graphic designer by trade, turned social media influencer through blogging. Through my online presence I’ve been invited to represent the voice of mom, woman, and the press. I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with brands through unique campaigns, as well as traveling to conferences and events where I had the opportunity to network and communicate with decision makers and influencers.
I am currently serving as a Walmart Mom, MegaBloks Mom, and my family is a participating Panasonic Living in HD Family.
I am for hire as a brand ambassador/influencer. I am also available to attend media/networking events. Feel free to contact me for more information!

Furthermore
I’m obsessed with anything that contributes to better living. I strive to maintain a happy and healthy family. That is my number one priority. I’m easy going, but I’m quiet. I’m quirky. I’m goofy. I’m observant. I giggle. I’m a free spirit. I’m an only child. I ramble a lot. Photography, painting, and cooking are some of my favorite hobbies… oh and shopping! I’m not here to pretend that life’s picture perfect. My family doesn’t skip through sunny meadows. We break things when playing ball in the house, get angry, and we laugh at weird stuff.
We’re all about going with the flow and what feels natural. I breastfeed Jay until he self weened at 18 months. We co-slept for 21 months before attempting to switch to the toddler bed. We cloth diapered and we use chlorine-free disposable diapers training pants. Sometimes we used cloth wipes. We’re a babywearing family, too. Jayden has Eczema, so we strive to use natural products on his skin whenever possible. We’re on a journey to greening our lifestyle. You may hear a lot about that here, eventually.

Obviously I’m not doing a good job at this and I need to get going!

I read and value each and every comment and I visit those who comment... even if I don't comment back. I'm working on it, I swear! Stuff you should know *ehehm*: So... sometimes companies send me items of interest in exchange for a feature on my blog. Some also compensate me for my time and efforts creating content to promote them. Yay! I always disclose if I have a relationship with a company. If I don't disclose a relationship with a company and I link to them, then the link is most likely an affiliate link. I use a plugin that automatically does this for me. Cool huh? Just want to make sure we are clear, okay? Read my full disclosure policy
