Growing up, ALDI was a place that my mother and I frequented for their affordable groceries. Back then, no one really wanted to admit to shopping there… kids and their hang ups. ALDI, for as long as I could remember carried some of the best specialty snacks especially around the holiday season. And over the years, I’ve seen them introduce lines of fine offerings for entertaining such as wine, cheese, and sausages which totally excite me.
I had the opportunity to shop ALDI for some of their seasonal offerings. I wanted to set out cookies and hot cocoa fixin’s for the holiday so that’s what was on the top of my shopping list. The first thing that I grabbed were some of my absolute favorite Danish Butter Cookies by Café Bistro. My mom used to always buy these for the holiday as well as Andes thin mints… which I also couldn’t resist. They are SO yummy in hot cocoa.
I concluded my shop with some marshmellows or “marshpillows” as Jayden calls them and Appleton Farms Spiral Sliced Ham for $10. It went through a little charring mishap (my mom accidentally turned the oven to broil) on Christmas, but paired deliciously well with a brown sugar and honey glaze I made. I have never seen a spiral ham where the meat fell off with such ease.
I have to say that my favorite time of the year to shop ALDI is around the holidays because they always have a great selections of seasonal goodies.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for ALDI. I received a gift certificate to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating. Straw flags and sign from Catch My Party.
