Summer Memories: Surreal Beach

July 26, 2012

It had been a straight up annoying week. I had people who I was trying to give my money to giving me the run around, not returning important emails/calls/texts, not listening  at.all. it seemed, and nonchalantly blowing off their mistakes. I had lost all hope for humanity. I was just done.

I needed to breathe and get out of the house, so we declared that Thursday a beach day. We put on our swimwear, grabbed the cooler, tent, and backpack and headed for Mt. Baldy.

Maybe my imagination was afloat, but the hike up the dune reminded me of hiking to the White River in Ocho Rios. It was comforting.

When we approached the beach, the water seemed to glow.

We played in the water, attempted to skip rocks, and maybe posed for a few photos. *ehehm* 🙂

As the storm rolled in, the atmosphere became surreal. I couldn’t get over the beauty before me.

As the wind picked up speed and the clouds started to rumble, we realized it was time to pack up. We wanted to stay and dance in the rain, but for safety’s sake, we decided to leave… just in the nick of time. Greg and I found ourselves rushing and grabbing our belongings, while Jayden ran haphazardly through the sand.

Greg and Jayden shared one last hurrah and then, it was time to hightail it back to the car during the downpour.

What a perfect way to end a stressful week!
