Sophistishe’s gone “October”. Refresh if you don’t see the subtle changes in the header, background, and bio box in the sidebar :). I added a few details throughout for Halloween and a pink ribbon background to show my support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It feels good to have time to actually do those things. It’s been years since I’ve styled my blog according to season. It’s what makes this blog mine, so I will be doing little fun things like these more often. I’m taking control. One of my favorite things to do during Autumn is aiming my camera ...

On Pinterest, I created a Summer Living List of things that I do as well as others I’d like to explore this summer. One of the activities that made it to the board was taking a family trip to a dairy farm. Last month, we did just that. We went on an adventure to YonEd, a private dairy farm, in Union Mills. We attempted this trip twice, both times we got lost, but were able to recover the second time around. #nevergiveup #timeforagps We were welcomed by Alice Lindborg, owner of YonEd. She invited us in her home for some ...

I am usually a nice person and I am sure many of my neighbors are, I just fear being trapped in situations I am not ready to deal with. I’m an introvert so there is a limit to the amount of people that I can process at once. However, once I get to know people, it’s not so bad. Knowing the people that I ...

I cannot pinpoint the last time Greg and I went out. Alone. I suppose it was maybe two years ago? For three years we’ve been waiting on the opportunity to get back into the groove of things. Parenting can be so exhausting at times, but perhaps we could have tried harder to do more for “us”. Two weeks ago, we did just that. Jayden went to visit with his great grandmother and Greg and I headed to the recreation center. The place was empty and we got to play a round of miniature golf (bass ackwards), ride go-karts and paddle ...

Mission Stop at Marshalls. Pick up some candles, maybe some capri’s, and head to the park. What really happened On the way to Marshalls, Greg caught a glimpse of a big brown animal in front of Culver’s which he thought was a camel. Coming to a halt, “Whoa, did you see that? It’s a camel laying there in the grass!”, Greg shouts. We detoured and headed back to find that it was a cow with her calf! Our local Culver’s was having their annual 4H Dairy Fundraiser. So to celebrate, a local dairy farmer brought a dairy cow and her ...
