Little Boys And Earrings

I had my ears pierced as a baby. Of course I don’t remember getting them done, so I guess it’s a good thing I got them done so early. But. I also feel like a little girl should get her ears pierced when she is ready and asks to have them pierced. That could be age 2-whenever, it’s truly up to her. I feel like babies have their share of handling when they come into this world, the body mods for beauty purposes can be postponed. And once a little girl is ready to have her ears pierced, it can ...

Like the wick on a burning candle, the years seem to wane before my eyes. Today, our little man turned three. Three. This morning, I made chocolate chip blueberry muffins and we gave him his new tricycle which he calls his “prize”. We ran some errands which included picking up some special items for him like an aquarium kit and Betta, and some toys for outside. Here are some mobile photos from today. I’m way too tired to edit and upload the rest of the photos from my camera, but I will later this week. We’re calling it an early ...

Play Kitchens For Boys: Mom Says Yes, Dad Says No

Greg and I have been going back and forth about getting Jayden a play kitchen. Admittedly, a piece of me wants to get one for me, as I didn’t have one growing up. Greg feels that Jayden doesn’t need a play kitchen… because it’s girly. He should have a workbench or a grill. I feel that he can have a workbench, grill, and a kitchen because real men know their tools and their way around the kitchen. Am I right? My hope is for Jayden to be a well-rounded, self-efficient individual. What if he marries a woman who can’t cook? ...

Repost: Playdate Therapy

April 7, 2011 · Defining Me · 10 comments

Park Day March 17, 2010

Today, I’m missing “Wednesdays”. Haven’t had one since last summer due to life changing events and tight schedules. Here’s a repost from exactly a year ago. Sometimes I still get the “playdate jitters” as I continue designing my life element by element… Before giving birth to my son, I never thought much about playdates. But after he was born and the months began to fly by, I started to realize that my boy was growing up. He needed to be around others so that he could learn from them, grow up with them, and embrace childhood together as friends. Thinking ...

I’ve been taking some time to work on projects that I’m passionate about and put me in a Flow state of mind. Projects that I have put on the backburner too long. I’ve been kindly saying “no” and archiving opportunities, so that I can work on certain aspects left untouched. I cannot help people, if I don’t help myself beforehand. So that’s what I’ve been doing, helping myself, working on my online properties, and planning out my life. One by one, they shall be completed and revealed. I shall be queen of the interwebs, housewives, and work-at-home moms. I’ll be ...
