Baby Shower 016

Boogie is most definitely one loved baby! The baby shower we received last weekend very well justifies it! The baby shower was simply amazing! We had a really great turnout. Many people from both Mommy’s family and Daddy’s family showed up, along with many of Mommy’s friends and Daddy’s friends. The food we had was absolutely delicious! It was like a buffet, and everyone made sure they treated it like one! We played many games that some of you who have been to baby showers before may be familiar with: Guess The Size Of Mommy’s Belly, Don’t Cross Your Legs, ...

My Ginormous Birthmark

As of yesterday, I’m officially 33 weeks pregnant! It seems like the weeks are just flying by! Before I know it, we’ll be on our way to the hospital! Speaking of which, today we went up to the hospital to fill out the additional paperwork. We also learned that there can be more than one labor coach in the room. My mother can come in now and if Daddy’s mother makes it down here (we live 5 hours away from our parents), she can too. I’m not sure if I want all of that company while my girly bits are ...

Yet another late update, sorry! Things have been hectic preparing for the baby shower (March 15th) and all! This post will be written as if today’s date is March 13th, so the baby shower will not be included. Stay tuned for our baby shower recap in the next couple of days! I’ve noticed the Braxton Hicks contractions more. I mean I was getting them before but now they are a part of my daily schedule. If standing, I’m left hunching over until they are done. Boogie is twisting and turning all over the place, he wants out! I am curious ...

March 7, 2008 · Parenting · leave a comment

This is a post written by Greg, which originally appeared on MommyDaddyBlog.com. Hey all, Daddy here! …what? You were expecting Mommy? Well, we just thought we’d switch things up a bit and give preggy Mommy a break on this one. Plus, I haven’t really been able to talk much about the pregnancy from my point of view. That is, until now! So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to MY 31st Week Update… Daddy Style! Ok, let’s see… where should I start? Hmmmm… well, she’s pregnant! Yup! Oh wait, you all already knew that. Ok well ummm… her stomach’s ...

Yesterday marked 30 weeks! Only 10 weeks more or less to go! I’m getting very anxious at this point. When in bed my lower body never wants to cooperate, it just feels so heavy. When laying on my sides, it’s like all of my weight is being transferred to my hips and butt. I need a preggy pillow. JT’s wiggling all over the place, jabbing me wherever possible, lol. It’s not so much the unpleasant parts of pregnancy that have me anxious, I’m just ready to hold my bundle and move shortly after so that I can nest! We’re trying ...

Baby & Momma: I

At 29 weeks, I’m in the fun stages of pregnancy. My stomach is growing rapidly and I actually look pregnant. I am now more into basking in the glory of being pregnant. I’m wearing tees that make statements and other articles of clothing that put emphasis on my bump. One of my favorite tees that I have in my maternity collection is the “I’m With My Inner Child” tee from baby&momma. Baby&momma offers trendy and affordable maternity tees that pregnant women can be comfortable in throughout their entire pregnancy. All tees feature amusing expressions that you can’t help but to ...

This post was written by Greg. I just came across an interesting video of a promo for an upcoming documentary entitled, “Being Dad: USA”. Just as the title suggests, the documentary is all about being a father. It looks like the producers are going around and interviewing regular ol’ dads and getting their perspectives on fatherhood and parenting as a whole. I came across the promo through Keith of African American Dad, a blog that I frequent, who’s included in it. It’s definitely worth checking out and I can’t wait until the complete documentary is available! I laughed at the ...

Surprise!!! This 29th week update is full of pictures! Yes I am all belly and JT’s using up every bit of space that he has in there! He’s going to be a little HAM like his mommy. Note to self: upload our baby pictures. JT’s workouts are so powerful that they no longer tickle, they hurt! I made Top Momma, go vote for me! I’m the picture of the pregnancy test. I wish I had chosen a different picture, I thought I would be able to change it later… I want to last after delivering JT so keep voting, paaaleeeese! ...

Pardon my lateness. This week hasn’t been so pleasant, and it wasn’t due to being pregnant, but being sick. I’m done with the funky part of having a cold but I am now dealing with being light headed all day long. I’m feeling better but I need a solution. It seems like I feel this way right after meals. I remember going through this in September. I shall give my doctor a call. Thursday’s doctor visit went quick. JT’s powerful heartbeat was checked. I was prescribed iron tablets because my hemoglobin was a tad low but my glucose score was ...
