For The Trendy & Stylish Kid: Cookie’s Shopping Haul

September 11, 2011 · Fashion · 4 comments

As the weather begins to transition from scorching hot, to a gentle cool, and Jayden grows a little taller, I realize that it’s time to do a little shopping to prepare him for the season. Marshalls, Old Navy, and Crazy 8 are the stores that I usually shop for Jayden’s clothing, but I think I will be adding Cookie’s to the list. I was offered the opportunity to do a little shopping at CookiesKids.com. I was slightly familiar with the store, but I assumed that they sold school uniforms (their specialty) and basics. I’m so glad that I decided to ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Living Feels Good

September 1, 2011 · Life & Quirks · 9 comments

I’ve been blogging less it seems. Once or twice every 10 days. My internal blogging alarm is naturally set to do so. And there’s a reason for that. I’ve been living and taking the necessary steps to take care of myself and my family. I’ve been less active on Twitter and Facebook, which are common distractions. I’ve also been ignoring my PR requests folder because I have enough going on and it’s just not healthy always being involved in something and falling behind in those things. Not being able to deliver bruises my ego, deep black and blue. I have ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

This is the way we paint inside.

Our days have been filled with painting lately. Outside, inside, and even the tub! Since painting is such a fun activity to do, but can be messy, we try to limit it to outside. But when I decided to paint one of the walls in Jayden’s room one evening, I had to improvise. I let him help out a bit, I mean come on, how fun is it doodling on a wall without being scolded for it? Ha! I felt that he’d appreciate the painted wall in his room even more if he was a part of the experience. So ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Encouragement: Growing up is when I needed it the most.

August 4, 2011 · Defining Me · 10 comments

Encouragement is near and dear to me. Growing up is when I needed it the most. With Jayden starting school in the next year, it pains me to think about him suffering in the ways that I did. He is such a happy little boy and no one as long as I’m his mother, will rob him of that. I had a rough time growing up. This is the condensed version. I received my share of ridicule in school… because I cherished good grades (before they started to decline), because I wore glasses, because my fourth grade teacher would defend ... Tuesday’s Mini Playdate

July 14, 2011 · Parenting · 27 comments

playdate1

Tuesday’s mini playdate was a success! Why mini? Well, because there were 10 kids missing. Whoa, right? But families go on vacations, kids get sick, and important errands must be run. Such is life during the busy summer months. But I’m looking forward to getting together with more of our group in the next week or two :). So back to Tuesday. The weather was just fine and it didn’t rain. The weather predictions have been so inaccurate lately, but I just knew that the day I’d host an outdoor playdate, it would rain. Mother Nature, thankfully, was on my ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Playdate Prep

So it’s almost time for the playdate that I’m planning and I’m so excited and kind of worried. The weather forecast for next Tuesday is 83 degrees with a 20-40% chance of rain, depending on the source. Depending on the severity, it won’t be a big deal since the kids will be in and out of the kiddie pool. *bites nails* So tomorrow, I will be doing some last minute shopping for food and snacks. Monday, I’ll bake a few things if I have the energy, and then fun will be had on Tuesday! So what toys did I choose ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Let Him Love Thomas

June 30, 2011 · Parenting · 1 comment

Jayden, like many boys his age, has a true love for Thomas & Friends. There’s nothing to date that he is more devoted to than those cheeky trains. I realize that Thomas is “the cheeky one”, but they all are cheeky to me :). I can not remember how the infatuation all began. He was two. One episode of Thomas & Friends led to another, then DVDs and PJs were purchased, a train set, trains, outfits, and accessories. He began correctly identifying every train and character from the series even the trains that are very similar. I realized that he was ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →
