Primping

I have been trying to make a conscious effort to take care of myself. I’m doing more with my hair, I keep my nails painted, and there are days when I dabble in makeup. I’m cool on jeans/pants, shoes, and bags, but I could use a few more cute tops. But where I’m really hurting is in the cute (grown woman) underwear department. It’s been years and years since I’ve purchased underwear, honestly. I’m still finding pairs still rolled up in tape from college. So the next thing on my self-care list is accumulating some cute underwear so I can feel more coordinated and sexy. I don’t feel I need to spend a grip at VS, although I do need to take advantage of their panty sales.

Anyway.

I was recently introduced to an affordable line of lingerie sold in Walmart stores by the name of Smart & Sexy. They are super cute and practical. Bra and panty sets retail for $15. It’s so funny because the homepage of Smart & Sexy says “Wear a matching bra and panty everyday!” I know I’m not the only one guilty of not matching because I only have one or two good bras that make the girls look great, but don’t match my panties. Yea, it’s about time to fix that. I have some sets sitting in my Wishpot ready to be purchased. Smart & Sexy also offers sleep and swimwear. Leopard is coming back, so I think I’m going to grab this leopard tankini and bottoms.

So enough about me. What about you? When was the last time you bought new underwear? Answer me that for an entry in the giveaway below :).

Tutorial: Glamorous Grave Nails

For Halloween, I wanted to create a grungy look to match my Sorceress costume. I got to playing in my nail polish and the photo above is what I ended up with. I loved the result, so I thought I’d share how I did it! You need one bottle of silver, black, and silver crackle polish. First, paint your nails silver. Use as many coats as it takes to get full coverage. Two did it for me. Once the silver dries, paint about 1/3 of your nails black. It doesn’t have to be neat. This is a grunge look. It ...

This is the way I shop for coats.

When shopping for a coat, many factors are taken into consideration. When looking for a coat, what matters most to me is that first and foremost, it’s warm. I choose a coat based on thickness, insulation, and length. I am passed the age where I feel the need to look cute, leaving my behind exposed to the wind. Shivering does not = cute. So a coat has to cover my bum. I don’t wear hats and scarves all of the time, so I always look for a coat with a nice hood. Living in the Snowbelt/Windy City, you need a ...
