Back to School: $100 Walmart Apparel Haul

Back to School season is here, so this means fresh clothes for the littles. I have my favorite places to shop for Jayden and I am going to be completely honest, Walmart hasn’t been one of them. I’ve only shopped Walmart for basics, undergarments, a pair of shoes, a hat, here and there and some Garanimals pieces for Summers. The Garanimals I do love as wardrobe fillers. And undergarments are always affordable at Walmart.

I was, however, challenged by Walmart to do a Back to School shopping haul for $100. I had no idea what I was in for because not much in the toddler boys section really stands out to me. Yes, my 4 year old is still in 3T’s so it’s hard to find apparel that’s trendy and not babyish and lackluster. To my surprise, I did come out with some cute finds (lots of sale items) and complete my haul, I ordered the rest online.

Disney Mickey 2-Piece Tank and Striped Short Set – $7.00

TOTAL: $97.19 (excluding tax)

I think I did really good. I had to grab some Garanimals as they are also super affordable and bright. Each piece was on sale too. The Faded Glory Cargos were on sale, so I grabbed then in both colors. Jayden loves him some Angry Birds, so the backpack was a great find. He had been asking for a plush Mickey, so I got him a Mickey outfit instead. Love the OP skater shoes. They are very well made and are going to last a while. The Faded Glory Sandals were also a good buy since he had outgrown his other pair of sandals.

I was surprised to find the Healthtex shorts sets online. They don’t look like something Walmart would carry… they’re hip and mature. The price point is awesome and I love how soft the fabric feels. I hope Walmart.com continues to carry the brand because I am impressed. And of course no new wardrobe is complete without socks and undies from Hanes. I was going to get Jayden some underwear with the characters as they cut lower for a better fit, but those are SO expensive! I was able to get two packs of Hanes for the price of one super hero pack. Jayden could really care less who is or isn’t on his “unnies” so it worked out great.

So tell me, where are you doing your Back to School apparel shopping? Will Walmart be one of your stops?

Great job! It looks like you found some great items. I did my walmart back to school shopping and was happy with the selection, she loves anything pink and purple.

Next on my list is to get BB’s back to school clothes. He starts kindergarten this fall! I’ve found cute shirts for him at Walmart before,I honestly don’t like to spend a lot of money on clothes that he will grow out of quickly.

    Homeschooling Housewife

I homeschool so I do not do a back to school shopping for apparel, looks like you did pretty good though! What I go for are the cheap notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, glues and paper……….. I always love the back to school sales, even if my shopping needs are a bit different then from those who need to do shopping for public school children.

I really like your blog, came here from your twitter post about this post!

My son will be going to pre-k maybe 4-6 hours a week (we’re moving, so we’re still working out the deets) and then we plan on having homeschooling sessions as well. This shop was more so a replenish to things he needed anyway. So we are kinda in the same boat :-). I hear ya on the cheap school supplies! I’m going to have to start sniffing out the bargains!

      Thanks for stopping by!
