Hello August (In Bullets)

As I sit and write this, I am fatigued, only capable of speaking in incomplete sentences. Left. Widget. Up. There. Chips. Okay. Sit. Hush. I am burnt out, but hanging in there. There’s so much more that I crave in life and for this blog of mine, and I’m working behind the scenes to be a better mother, wife, sister (trying to figure that out), friend, and blogger. One minute, I’m one big ball of happy and the next, I feel like a loser. And it’s ongoing. So much good happening, but very little time to manage it all. I’m just trying to figure it all out. I know I am able, I’m just overwhelmed.

June and July have been spent at numerous doctor visits getting Jayden caught up on things and getting his allergies under control. I’ve written about his Eczema many times before, but I have pulled down most of those posts because they need to be updated with more accurate information. He’s doing MUCH better, but we are now dealing with a share of food allergies, the cause of his Eczema, which I will address in another post.

Bring on the bullets…

  • We’ve been without hot water since Sunday morning, a day before these bad mamma jammas arrived (courtesy of Whirlpool). Hopefully, we’ll be getting a new water heater today, so we can do the laundry and the mountain of dishes that await.
  • Jayden is now fully potty trained. He’s been for almost two months now? And he’s sleeping alone, although he sometimes wanders into our bed in the morning.
  • We’re about to start speeding through our summer todo list. It’s AUGUST already! It was just JUNE! I will have to tell you all about our trips to the Fair in another post! Lots of fun had :).
  • I finally got an eye exam and ordered new glasses. I am in possession of my prescription, so I can rack up on eyewear online. I feel so free! Sidenote: Have you ever gotten your eyes dilated before? How about trying to choose paint samples afterwards? Yeesh.
  • Speaking of paint, I spruced up our upstairs bath by painting it. It looks SO much better. I’m also adding a few touches to liven it up. Reveal coming soon.
  • And speaking of sprucing, that’s what I did around the blog. I didn’t want to let the previous design go, so I adjusted some colors, fonts, and added a little more me to the mix.
  • Aside from perusing Pinterest, reading new blogs has been another form of therapy. I’ve been steadily bookmarking them for safe keeps, because I need out of “the scene (I’m not talking about the style of hair/dressing)”… if you know what I mean. I’m ready to explore.
  • See the little banners under the “Subscribe” banner? Visit them, pretty please? They are all independently owned businesses that I’d love for you all to support too!
  • Pardon my tardiness in announcing, but I’m a writer over at the Megabloks Family Club. Have you checked out my posts? Comments will soon be open without having to sign in. Sorry about that, folks!
  • Have you been to She {hearts} It lately? We’re still going strong!
  • The garden is doing well. Things are a tad delayed since I started everything later and then we had to move everything to a sunnier location. Rookie me also didn’t realize how much fertilizing I should be doing this month, so I am trying to catch up! I think I’ll dedicate a separate post to the garden too. I am really pushing it with all these separate posts. Here’s to hoping I can complete them all!
  • In exactly a month from now, I will be in beautiful Jamaica (here) for a little rest, relaxation, and soul searching. When I first caught wind of this retreat, I knew I’d be there. No doubt.
  • OH! Wanna win $1,000? Follow me here, here, and here to enter this giveaway (It’s legit y’all, I swear)!
  • What are you up to? Leave me a comment on this post and I’ll leave you one too :).

And now for some eye candy…

I totally understand! I could have wrote this post (that is if I had more time). I have such visions for what I'd like my blog to be, but being a wife/mother/computer-free human being sometimes keeps me busy enough.

Your summer sounds a lot like ours, gardening, keeping the little guy occupied. It's funny how the photos of J are so parallel to Soren. We went on rides like that at the boardwalk and we have that same sand table that he often rides Thomas on too.

Nice cucumbers!
