Holiday At Home: The Kitchen Table

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of At Home. All opinions are 100% mine.

November 1st is the start of the holiday season, but many stores have had their holiday promos in place since September. I personally couldn’t wait to decorate for the holidays, sooo on Sunday I packed up our Halloween things and started decorating for the holiday season. The first area to be decked was our little kitchen table.

The kitchen table is where snacks are eaten and crafts and homework are done so I like to add seasonal accents to keep the area fun. Using At Home Christmas Decor, I quickly put together a functional vignette to help us get in the holiday spirit. I shopped At Home, the one-stop-shop for home decor. At Home is heaven, y’all. I’m talking aisles and aisles of decor and furnishings for every single room.

In addition to At Home’s huge home decor, they offer just about as much seasonal decor including 101 varieties of artificial Christmas Trees! I seriously felt like I was inside my very own fantasy show on HGTV shopping to complete a design. Being enticed by all the lovelies, I had to make a conscious effort to stay on budget and the allotment of items set to come into our home. I’ve been doing a lot of purging so I had to make sure my weakness for Christmas decor didn’t wreak havoc on my progress.

I scoured all of the holiday aisles once or twice for accents that I could use in our living areas including our kitchen. I’m excited to share my finds in this three-part series!

A tree for me? Pretty tempting. Lanterns, glorious lanterns.

This is what our little table area looked like before. As you can see, I like to add a few knick-knacks and things to make it a fun spot for our family. It also provides a great backdrop for photographing food and products for blog content.

Aaaaand here’s what the space looks like after jazzing it up with some of the goods I brought back from At Home. I like adding color to our chalkboard table by using a runner. I couldn’t find a runner that was patterned enough or wasn’t super fancy so I grabbed a chalkboard themed tablecloth, cut it into a runner, then, tucked and taped it under the table. No holiday scene is complete without some sort of tree, so I grabbed  a small and whimsical metal tree that complemented the space well.

Two little lantern ornaments from the Holiday Hoedown collection added some color and dimension to the space. And it’s just not Christmas without the lights, especially the multi-color variety (Greg’s favorite)! I finished the space with battery powered led lights. Now to work on the living room! Join me next time as I have two more decorating ideas to share in partnership with At Home. Be on the lookout!

Awesome job! I would love to have a chalkboard runner :) That is such a great idea. I also love your paper roll. That would be super fun to draw on, and for easy clean up.
