Holiday Gift Ideas For Bloggers

Christmas Backdrops for photography

Every blogger has a wishlist of items they’re lusting after, but have put off purchasing them for whatever reason. If you’ve got a blogger friend or family member in your life, chances are they would absolutely love to receive any of the gifts on this list! If you’re a blogger, add your own ideas to the comments!

For WordPress

To get the most out of WordPress, you’ll want to make sure you have an amazing theme! I love ElegantThemes because they’re so user-friendly and easy to customize. For $69 a year, you get access to all 87 themes, 6 plugins (Monarch and Bloom and my jam), plus customer service! Developer pricing is available, as well as a lifetime one-time fee option ($249). Theme Forest is another great place for WordPress themes, so consider treating a blogger that sharp theme they’ve been lusting after.

CoSchedule is another blogging must-have. Why? Because it literally holds everything together: blog, social media, and your brain! CoSchedule is the #1 marketing calendar and organizer out there and I don’t know where I’d be without it. I’m super scattered these days, so it helps to have everything in one place to avoid loading multiple sites and tabs… because ADHD (not even joking).

Tools & Software

Give the gift of design this holiday season! Send a blogger a Creative Market gift card where they can shop for the perfect design elements and fonts to brand their blog to use in Canva or Photoshop. Canva is free and good for beginners. It can be used for designing pinnable images, gift guides, newsletter graphics and pretty much anything lovely that goes on the blog or social media. It’s an amazingly simple online graphic design tool. For the advanced, I suggest Adobe Creative Suite for advanced techniques, illustrating, and photo editing.

For managing emails, ConvertKit is all the rage. I’ve been fumbling with other systems, but ConvertKit seems to be the most user-friendly, so it’s at the top of my wishlist. Growing your email list is the best way to grow your income, so investing in an email service is important. If you’re giving this as a gift, check out the annual price! You’ll save quite a bit.

To track emails, I recommend Sidekick. Instead of wasting time, refreshing your inbox and wondering if someone has received your email, Sidekick tells you when your email has been opened. Sidekick is a great “checks and balances” system for collaborators and contributors as well, because it alerts you when mail is read. No more “but I didn’t see it!”. The jig is up!

Bloggers spend a lot of time online. Extended time spent staring at a screen can be damaging to your eyes! I have computer eyewear on my list this year since I’m near-sided and spend an embarrassing amount of time in front of my computer. These special lenses reflect and absorb a portion of the blue light that computers, smartphones, and other digital devices emit.

Photography & Gear

The key to having a great blog and social media accounts can be attributed to great photography. It starts with choosing a camera that works best a blogger’s content needs and budget. Stunning photos are accomplished by learning how to truly work a camera’s functions and having a good understanding on how to compose shots. This can even be achieved with a smart phone.

Lighting is also key to stellar photos. It’s tough to get a good photos in darkness! ‘Tis the season for shorter days which can turn a blog project into a race against the sunlight. Don’t get caught without proper lighting especially if you tend to work during nights. I recommend getting an external flash (for DSLR users), an inexpensive lighting kit, and daylight bulbs to use in home fixtures. Having these lighting options have saved me during several winters.

Office Supplies

If you really love a blogger, get them the EPIC Blog Planner. Designed by one of the best bloggers ever, Regina Anaejionu of byregina.com, the EPIC Blog Planner is the best way to help a blogger get their stuff together – and keep it together!

Another great gift idea for bloggers is business cards. I love moo.com for business cards because they’re classy, durable, and even though they cost a bit more, you clearly get what you pay for here. If you use my link, you’ll get $15 off your order!

A lot of bloggers that I know go through a ton of sticky notes, but sticky notes are borrrring. What’s a girl to do? Grab a handful of colorful notes from Oh So Paper! Nothing like getting your mojo flowing with new stationary.

Staedtler Triplus Fineliners – Trust me when I say these pens are the gods of all writing utensils. Bonus: They double as markers when you want to color in that motivational coloring book or doodle in your journal.

Cord Organizers are a godsend when you have a dozen cords to deal with. This is a simple way to keep your cords from turning into a rat’s nest.

Novelty Gifts for Bloggers

Blog for It Tee – We all have specifics we’re willing to blog for; cash, airfare, Disney. What are you willing to blog for?

Hustle Pillows – Blogging requires hustle, man. Every bloggers needs a Hustle pillow in their works pace. There are so many to choose from, the toughest decision will be narrowing them down to one!

Listen, blogging can be very lucrative, but it’s no gravy train. Working for several different companies with different pay periods at once can sometimes throw a wrench in things especially if a project unexpectedly goes left or a company goes bankrupt… Freelancing ain’t loyal, y’all, which is why I decided to make this mug. *sips tea*

The Facebook Ad Fund

Facebook Ads are a hot topic. Once you get into the groove of how they work, you can use them to bring quality traffic to your blog and leverage your endeavors. A lot of bloggers and entrepreneurs have been simply asking for money for Facebook Ads because they can get so expensive, especially when experimenting with them. For my birthday, my mother-in-law got me a Facebook marketing course and I can’t wait to dive in!

This is how you love a blogger!

These are great gift ideas for any blogger. I love the idea of the computer eyewear because any blogger is going to sit in front of a computer for hours. Eyewear can really help with reflections, eyes playing tricks on you, etc. while protecting the eyes. Thanks for the blogger gift ideas.
