A Colorful Bedroom Update Featuring Novogratz 9

I’ve been having an absolute ball decorating our bedroom and I thought it was time for an update. Well QUITE a bit has changed since the last update. Let’s see… I put up two more prints (1 / 2) above the headboard as well as some paper lanterns I’ve been holding on to for years. I added on to “my little corner” by putting up an IKEA spice rack turned book/tablet shelf. I also made my own invisible book ledge using two L-shaped corner braces and command strips (to attach the back of the book cover to the braces). I also mounted my guitar on the wall and hung macrame planters on the curtain rods.

Aaaand now for the MAJOR changes. We got new bedding! And to complement it all, I decided to paint our nightstand! I discovered a paint sample (BEHR Premium Plus Ultra in Surfer) that I’ve had forever, so I decided to finally put it to use. I had just enough for the nightstand project. Total moment of destiny. OMG, y’all, I can’t believe how pretty it turned out! I’m itching to paint my dresser now. I’m leaning towards yellow since I plan on getting a rug with yellow accents.

I styled the nightstand with the lovely BHG Owl Lamp with the BHG Medallion shade. I also brought in a summer serving tray we had from The Tarjay, a super fun book, some fall florals from my wreath project, and a yucca plant.

Now let’s talk about the fabulous bedding that inspired my design frenzy. It’s the Kaleidoscope Bed in a Bag Bedding Set from the 9 by Novogratz exclusive Walmart collection. Inspired by a recent trip to Brazil, Kaleidoscope offers a playful geometric print that is far from ever looking square. It includes a comforter, two standard shams, flat sheet and fitted sheets, two standard pillowcases, AND a decorative pillow! The queen bedding set retails for $103… how’s that for value?

I am a huge fan of the Novogratz’s style and decor lines (Love their dinnerware!) so I was geeked to find their decor products at Walmart! Novogratz 9 is a fun, functional, and eclectic collection featuring bold, bright colors, and modern lines. The collection consists of various decor items and furniture for living, bed, and bath rooms. I’m all over the place when it comes to decorating. I decorate with whatever items makes me happy. I love to mix and match bold patterns and colors and that’s exactly what this collection is all about! I’m all the way here for 9 by Novogratz and need more of it in my life. I can’t help but to think about how much of a mood booster our room will be this Winter thanks to this incredible line.

It’s so cheerful! You did a great job making it sophisticated and fun. What are you going to add next? I could see a pennant garland on your headboard. :)
