Jayden’s Green Glow In The Dark Wall

Top: Pinterest Inspiration / Bottom: Jayden’s Room / More Photos Here

I often joke about Jayden’s room being the best room in our home because of all the neat things I’ve done to it. It’s always a work in progress, though, since I can’t leave it be. Growing up, my room wasn’t half as cool as his so I get such a thrill from decorating his room. Jayden’s room was inspired by a room I found on Pinterest. Slowly, but surely, it came together and it’s more than I imagined it would be.

DIY Chalkboard Wall

In preparation for Jayden’s birthday, I decided to spruce up his room a bit by adding an additional splash of color and some elements from outer space. As part of his birthday present, we are taking him to the Planetarium as well as doing an Angry Birds Space theme for his party. Perfect right? So far, I’ve painted a portion of one wall a VERY lime green (Disney Paint‘s Mike’s Mayhem). And it’s so green that I will be toning it down with some art and maybe some bookshelves. OMG it’s SO green. I’ve also stenciled his name on the wall using Disney Paint’s Ready, Set, Glow! Specialty Finish. I’m pretty proud of the results since I made the stencils myself ;-).

The light and dark shadows under the letters are some of Jayden’s crafts that I decided to take down. I have a better idea of displaying them. So that’s the latest on Jayden’s room. Hopefully after his birthday I’ll be able to share some progress on the wall; planets, stars and such. Oh, if you want to grab some of the Disney paint I used, it’s available at Walmart. I love that it’s VOC and fume free. I cracked the window in Jayden’s room, but I really didn’t need to.

As a participant in the Walmart Moms Program, I’ve received product and compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
