KitchenAid Cook for the Cure: How you can help!

At BlogHer Food, I met with KitchenAid and learned all about a cause that is near and dear to them, Cook for the Cure. Cook for the Cure is a program that gives foodies and aspiring foodies alike a way to support the fight against breast cancer. Funds are raised through culinary-based events, auctions and the sale of pink products. KitchenAid has successfully raised over $8 million in the past decade through their partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and are continuing their efforts by asking people to get involved by hosting parties in their homes or purchasing and registering Villeroy & Boch plates.

From July 20th to July 29th, KitchenAid is encouraging people to host a party (of any kind) at their home. Rather than bring a housewarming gift, food or wine, KitchenAid suggests that guests bring a small donation for Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help in the fight against breast cancer. Any party host that raises $50 or more will receive a free plate designed by chef, Jacques Pepin, in the mail, and anyone who hosts a party and registers it on the KitchenAid website will automatically be entered to receive the ultimate “thank you” from Jacques Pepin himself!

Additionally, people can get involved in Cook for the Cure by participating in the Pass the Plate program. It’s as simple as purchasing and registering a uniquely marked Villeroy & Boch plate and serving a meal and gifting the plate to a friend or family member. Each time the plate is passed and registered, KitchenAid will make a $5 donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. How will you be supporting Cook for the Cure?
