BlogHer Food ’11 Recap And Why I’m Going Back

010 Just when I thought I was done with conferences, BlogHer Food ’11 managed to exceed my expectations. I am such a wannabe foodie. I love cooking up new and healthy, wholesome, meals for my family and I have a strong interest in food from other cultures. I love bringing the restaurant to our kitchen table at a fraction of the costs and I also love food talk and sharing recipes.

The panels at BlogHer Food fueled those passions and I was able to soak in so much information from creative food photography and vlogging tips (I really loved this one) to recipe development and how to optimize them for search engines. Held in Atlanta, Georgia, the place was full of Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was cool and calm. I had the chance to hang out with so many bloggers who I’ve admired and met at previous events – there was actually time for that! Everyone was so warm and welcoming and the Twitter hashtag was full of knowledge and support. There were just enough parties/gatherings (with food!) and they were open to all attendees.

053 There was plenty of food everywhere (you’d hope so at a food conference, right?) and everything was so yummy. There’s nothing like good food to set the mood and get everyone chatting. We even took an excursion to the Sweet Auburn Curb Market where I enjoyed a jerk chicken meal and ginger beer from AfroDish… it was delish! The trip was tons of fun and definitively a nice touch.

BlogHer Food is a conference I’d highly recommend. It felt great getting away from the same ol’ topics and scene that I’m used to. It felt great to relax, learn, have fun, and enjoy the company of other creative bloggers. I am on my way to Seattle for this year’s BlogHer Food conference and I am excited to see what’s in store! I’m ready to be inspired.

For the sake of disclosure… my conference and travel expenses were covered by Walmart. The Moe’s Party Bus provided me with a ride to the hotel. Walmart will covering a portion of my BlogHer Food attendance this year.
