Merrillville Red Lobster Bar Harbor Design

Photos in this particular collage are courtesy of Red Lobster. I decided to spare innocent bystanders from my aggressive photo taking.

One of the things that I love about dining out… besides getting my eat on, is observing the restaurant’s overall atmosphere and design. I love capturing those elements with my camera, even if that makes me look a little weird… or as Greg says like I ain’t never been anywhere before, lol. I’m a media blogger and photog. It’s just what I do. Earlier this season, I was invited to dine, observe, and capture at one of my favorite restaurants; Red Lobster. Yum! My local Red Lobster had been remodeled so I was given the opportunity to check it out.

Red Lobster restaurants all across North America are being redesigned (700 by 2014) in a style inspired by the seaside fishing villages of Bar Harbor, Maine. The new exterior features of the restaurants reflect architecture found throughout New England, including a stone tower, ship lanterns, and Adirondack-style chairs to encourage conversation. Interiors are now more inviting, welcoming guests to cozier booths, softer lighting, nautical decor, and seaside-inspired artwork. Red Lobster even redesigned their logo! There goes my inner nerd.

The redesign is just one of the many improvements made inside Red Lobster restaurants over the last several years – from the debut of an award-winning Today’s Fresh Fish Menu to bringing guests more delicious items prepared on their signature Wood-Fire Grill.

Our time spent at our local Red Lobster restaurant was very pleasant. When we walked into the restaurant, I immediately noticed the walls which were painted a soft cream color and decorated with portholes, nautical flags, and seaside paintings. The design was fresh, clean, and chill. Food was delicious as usual. I had the Harborside Lobster & Shrimp, Greg had the Steak Lobster-and-Shrimp Oscar, and Jayden, chicken fingers and fries. Oh, and of course we noshed on those scrumptious Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Nom.

Our waiter was so nice and attentive. He even offered to take a photo of us together or in his words, “When I come back, I’m going to take a photo of you guys! Okay?” I thought that was super sweet. I wish I could remember his name. If I find our receipt, I’ll be sure to update this post. I am loving the overall changes in our Red Lobster. That evening, I had my dose of Food Network and HGTV. Pretty sweet. I’m sharing the love below. Enter the giveaway so that you can dine, observe, and capture and too!
