Mission Stop at Marshalls. Pick up some candles, maybe some capri’s, and head to the park. What really happened On the way to Marshalls, Greg caught a glimpse of a big brown animal in front of Culver’s which he thought was a camel. Coming to a halt, “Whoa, did you see that? It’s a camel laying there in the grass!”, Greg shouts. We detoured and headed back to find that it was a cow with her calf! Our local Culver’s was having their annual 4H Dairy Fundraiser. So to celebrate, a local dairy farmer brought a dairy cow and her ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

What are your kids’ favorite movies?

June 14, 2011 · Brand Promos · leave a comment

When it comes to movies, Jayden is very much like me when I was a little girl. He isn’t a big movie enthusiast. He’d rather focus his attention on playing with his trains. For me, it was Legos :). Two movies that he does enjoy in doses are Toy Story and Finding Nemo. When I was a little girl, my favorites were Aladdin and The Lion King. And now suddenly, I have the urge to buy up a bunch of Disney Classics on Amazon! It would be fun to share some Nostalgia with Jayden (if he’s willing to watch) and ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

I must say that I’m falling in love with my camera again :). Oh, are you on Pinterest? I cannot count the ways in which the site has inspired me to just LIVE.

Jayden’s 1st Dental Visit!

Wednesday, we took Jayden to his first appointment at the dentist. We knew we were in for a meltdown, but surprisingly, aside from a few I want Daddy‘s, he did really well! Of course Jayden’s delightful experience wouldn’t have been possible without the super kid friendly environment and the compassion shown by the entire office staff and dentist! Check out this room! He was given sunglasses to shield the overhead light. Cool! The toothbrush had a penguin attachment! Something pleasant to look up at! Redeeming his token for a bouncy ball. They also gave him a goodie bag with floss ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Winner: Mami2jcn :) Yesterday, Greg and I enjoyed a Chili’s Togo dinner at home. While a little date out would have been nice, spending time away from the weekend crowd was much better. Eating out is such a rare occasion for us, so of course there had to be a catch right? :) Chili’s sent me a gift card to try their new $10.99 Triple Dipper special which allows you to combine 3 of your favorite dipable appetizers as a meal. Each appetizer is more like a sample. The portions are not full size, but you still get a decent ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Since giving our outdoor living space a makeover, I have been on an outdoor high! Since my last update, the blueberry and hazelnut trees have been planted in large pots and I’m considering planting peach and apple trees since Jayden keeps asking for both of those fruits. Where am I gonna put them? I dunno, we’re running out of space! But mama will find a way for her baby to have his apple and peach trees. Oh, and the garden is thriving, too. I’ll give a more in depth update with a complete list of what we’re growing soon! So, ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Guest Post: Bathing daily can actually be bad for you?

May 28, 2011 · Brand Promos · 9 comments

Did you know that latest research suggests that bathing daily can actually be bad for you? While it’s important to wash wounds clean and keep the soot of the day from building up and attracting colonies of bacteria, the chemicals inside even the most sensitive of soaps and body washes have been shown to do a considerable amount of destruction to the epidermis. The reason soaps do such a great job at getting you fresh and clean is the same reason they’re so corrosive on the top level of skin; soap molecules glob onto loose pieces of dirt and dead ... Win a Full #BlogHer 2011 Sponsorship From Salsa Sensations!

May 18, 2011 · Brand Promos · 4 comments

Conferences, as we all know, can get a little pricey especially when paying our own way. From my own observations, it usually takes one conference whether sponsored or not to get your foot in the door of continuously being sponsored by brands to attend future conferences (if your blog is pretty established). It only takes a little strategic networking and BlogHer is usually the best place to start. Thousands of bloggers and hundreds of brands converge at BlogHer, so it is an great avenue to meet other bloggers, learn some new blogging techniques (if you’re a new blogger), and network ...
