old navy

Congrats to the following winners: @Southtexasstyle, AdventuresInBabywearing, Lauren (faupula), Mindi (mae), armyguardmom, Mo L., Macey (momsessential), Jennifer (madeli) and Joette L! I’m doing some last minute shopping for BlogHer and I’m hitting up Old Navy for some cute pieces. It’s definitely going to be hot outside and possibly chilly at the hotels, so I need some basics to layer. I don’t like sweating and when I do, I get self conscious. I chill easily and can’t stand cold arms. Sometimes I shake, sometimes I twitch, sometimes I get grumpy. I don’t want to scare anyone, so I need to layer. ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Still A Baby In My Eyes

You’re growing tall and that scrumptious face of yours keeps maturing. Some chub’s still present. Belly. Knobby knees. Curled legs. Last year’s swim diaper still fits, but for how long? What are we going to do?

Good For Somethin’ Point And Shoot

Last night before bed, I grabbed my point and shoot off the dresser and started tinkering around. Truth is, I avoid it like the plague because I’m a DSLR girl. Not only did I dare to take pictures with it, I used the flash. That built-in source of artificial light. Only ’cause I didn’t wanna toss the little man out of my lap to run downstairs to retrieve my DSLR. I guess the ‘ol point and shoot is good for somethin’ :).

Morning Muffins

This morning, I made the most delicious batch of muffins. I am definitely using this recipe as my base for muffins from now on. There’s less sugar in the recipe and the muffins come out fluffy; just how I like them. Of course, I always have to add my touches to a recipe. I used 1 cup of raspberries instead of 2 1/2 cups of blueberries and 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 cup sour cream instead of 1/2 cup milk. I also added 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Try ‘em out and tell me how you like ‘em!

Garden Bliss

On Monday, I went to her house to garden. I must have picked green beans for 4 hours? And boy do my muscles ache now. A little lady landed on my shoe. Well I’ll be…a frog made an appearance, too (click for a hint). I grabbed some squash. Checked out the basil. Had time to reflect. Came home to cheesy grins… and this gorgeous fabric (the one with apples). I rinsed green beans… squash too. Chopped, steamed, and enjoyed.

Smart and Trendy Moms

Just as this post suggests, it’s full of rambles. I rarely talk about myself, so it’s time that I do. I think what has kind of kept me from blogging about myself more is this one thing that I have been needing to finish for months. If I have time to blog about what I’m doing, I guess I can squeeze in some time to finish what I’ve started. I wanted to have it done by BlogHer because I don’t know how things will be looking afterwards. I may need some down time. I want to redesign my blog, but ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Reminiscing: My Day With Dyson

Dyson Domestic Engineers

March 19th, 2010 was the day that I attended the Dyson Domestic Engineers event held at the Dyson headquarters in Chicago. This was no ordinary event. It was very casual, like hanging out with the girls. We took a tour of the headquarters, had lunch, and talked about our current vacuums and what we’d like to see in future vacuum models. She has a Kirby. I didn’t know those were still on the market. She names every single one of her appliances. Can you believe she has a fridge named Franny? After lunch, we broke off in to groups where ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →
