“Do you have siblings?“, a reader and friend once asked me. And I never fully answered that question. At least I don’t think I have. By now, some of you may have figured out. And the answer could vary from “No.” to “Maybe.”. Well, here’s the answer: I am my mom’s only child, but I’m one of three (and possibly more) of my father’s children. I have only known of two of them. One, my older brother (from another mother), who I’ve met once when I was a little girl, and an older sister (from another mother other than my ... S’more Saturdays

I intended to post this last Saturday, but because I cannot seem to get ANYTHING done on time, Wednesday’ll have to do. Saturday went a little something like this… Splishin’ and splashin’ in the pool. His blue flame SPF suit is up for grabs at She {hearts} It =). California Poppy Blooming Zinnia Corn Silks Male Cucumber Flower For old times’ sake, Greg put a onesie on Jayden and he didn’t want to take it off. He kept saying that he wanted to be a silly boy. The Many Faces of Jay We made S’mores on the grill. Um yes, ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Encouragement: Growing up is when I needed it the most.

Encouragement is near and dear to me. Growing up is when I needed it the most. With Jayden starting school in the next year, it pains me to think about him suffering in the ways that I did. He is such a happy little boy and no one as long as I’m his mother, will rob him of that. I had a rough time growing up. This is the condensed version. I received my share of ridicule in school… because I cherished good grades (before they started to decline), because I wore glasses, because my fourth grade teacher would defend ... Hello August (In Bullets)

019-2

As I sit and write this, I am fatigued, only capable of speaking in incomplete sentences. Left. Widget. Up. There. Chips. Okay. Sit. Hush. I am burnt out, but hanging in there. There’s so much more that I crave in life and for this blog of mine, and I’m working behind the scenes to be a better mother, wife, sister (trying to figure that out), friend, and blogger. One minute, I’m one big ball of happy and the next, I feel like a loser. And it’s ongoing. So much good happening, but very little time to manage it all. I’m ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Just Because Life is a Special Occasion

Last week, I bought new notebooks and pens. I need to write more, whatever it may be. I write ideas and countless to-do lists because if I don’t write it, I forget it. Digital reminders just won’t do. I am always quick to send an email or text. My handwriting is less than desired and hopping on the phone takes a lot of mental preparation. Sentiments are not my forte and to randomly send them out without it being some sort of special occasion kinda weirds me out. Doing so is such an intimate thing to me and I don’t ... Playing video games was one of my favorite pastimes as a child. I’ve owned Nintendo, Gameboy, Super NES, Sega Genesis, and Sony Playstation. I was never the first to get the newest system or game, but after time, I eventually acquired them. I actually still have the Super NES, Genesis, and Playstation. To my knowledge, they still work! We are all gamers, Greg, Jayden, and I. I put in the least time on the Wii and Xbox 360. I’d just rather be doing something on my laptop. It’s the only device that I don’t have to keep learning the controls ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Once Upon a Dairy Farm

On Pinterest, I created a Summer Living List of things that I do as well as others I’d like to explore this summer. One of the activities that made it to the board was taking a family trip to a dairy farm. Last month, we did just that. We went on an adventure to YonEd, a private dairy farm, in Union Mills. We attempted this trip twice, both times we got lost, but were able to recover the second time around. #nevergiveup #timeforagps We were welcomed by Alice Lindborg, owner of YonEd. She invited us in her home for some ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →

Once upon a time, we were owners of a Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix. Before we became parents. We adopted him from my mother who could no longer care for him and my aunt simultaneously. He was a very needy and mischievousness pup, but he was very much treated as the child that we never had. Before having Jayden, we had to give him back and my mom eventually gave him away, which I’ve had to get over. We can not have pets in our current home, but in the next few years, when we move, we’d like to indeed have ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →
