One in three teens will experience physical or emotional abuse.

Nearly one in four women, one in nine men, and over 3 million children have been affected by domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Verizon is committed to breaking the cycle through their HopeLine program.

HopeLine turns old cell phones, batteries and accessories into support for victims and survivors. Proceeds also help provide cash grants for dating and domestic violence organizations.

How You Can Help

1. Donate used cellphones to a local HopeLine-supported Organization or ship them straight to HopeLine (mailing label).

2. Submit a photo taken with your Verizon Wireless device that represents Hope. For each submission, $1 will be donated to HopeLine. It is a contest with prizes, so creativity is welcomed.

Here’s my submission. Nothing fancy, but I see hope when looking at this sunflower that was slow to bloom this season.
