Spring Fitness / Activewear & Snacks

After a long, brutal, winter that has overstayed its welcome, we are finally entering spring… about a month late. Better late than never, I suppose. There’s something about warm weather that inspires us to get out and be more active. Last fall, Greg and I started taking walks in the morning and now that the weather has warmed up, we’ve started walking again.

After spending some time people watching during our walks, I realized that I needed to dress the part. I’m often in my flared jeggings because they are comfy and fit perfect, but they are so unofficial. LOL. I have a very limited collection of activewear. I started my collection February of last year, so it was time that I picked up a few new things. I headed over to Walmart and grabbed some Danskin sport capri’s and mesh shorts, as well as some v-necks from Hanes X-temp.

I am falling in love with Danskin as they offer active essentials for low prices. The capri’s were $12.96 and the shorts were only $3.96. The shorts are also available in packs of two for $7.50. I will definitely be back for more of the shorts. I’ll be living in them this summer. The Hanes shirts are so comfy, a little loose for my liking, but they may shrink in the dryer. They were $4.96, available in packs of two for $8.00. It’s so nice to have affordable activewear options.

It’s easy to work up a sweat while out on a walk, especially in warmer temperatures. Staying hydrated is very important for optimal health. We bring several water bottles along on our walks to make sure we quinch our thirst and re-up on fluids. I like to switch things up a bit by adding a drop of lemon essential oil to my water or infusing it with mint. I found the perfect set of infusers water bottles by Hydra Boost to enjoy infused water on-the-go. They’re glass, which are a preference of mine. I’m trying to use less plastic, so these would be awesome. I think I will be ordering as soon as I hit publish.

It’s always great to have some snacks ready while exercising. Hunger comes on strong when you’re burning calories. Walmart has some great healthy snack options such as dried fruits and nuts. You can never go wrong with non-perishables. Granola’s another one of my favorites.
