Stockin’ Stuffin’ For $25

I didn’t plan on putting up stockings this year. I mean, I wanted to, but my cheap self wanted to wait until they went on clearance. I’ve passed Christmas aisles over and over wanting to grab three stockings, but my conscience kicked in each time and told me not to overspend. Then, Walmart invited me to participate in a stocking stuffing challenge. My plan catapulted out of the window and I splurged on three stockings ($6 each @ Walmart), although I was only stuffing one: Jayden’s.

So this is where the challenge comes in. With $25, I had to purchase as many items possible to stuff Jayden’s stocking. Easy, right? Problem numero uno: Jayden already has so much and I have been fighting “spoiled child” guilt. Problem numero dos: I may have grabbed more than $25 worth of items since I couldn’t decide what I wanted to reserve for the stocking. For the sake of this post, I’ll only show what I decided to place in Jayden’s stocking. The rest (4 & 5 dollar PJs) will be Christmas presents.

Kai-lan Sleepover Figures ($5.00) – I found these little guys while browsing the clearance section. Jayden loves Kai-lan, so I had to snatch them up.

Chuck & Friends Construction Fleet ($9.96) – Jayden loves little cars. I could have stretched the $9.96 a bit and purchased a few packs of other cars, but I thought these were cool and non-breakable.

Crayola Colored Pencils ($2.84) – We love colored pencils because they don’t break like crayons and they are easier to get off the walls :-/. Jayden thinks they’re “crayons”, so we all win :).

Thomas & Friends Spinbrush ($5.00) – This toothbrush is the best ever. He is obsessed with Thomas & Friends as it is, so having Thomas on a toothbrush that spins is very magical for the both of us. I no longer have to fight to make sure I’ve gotten every nook brushed.

Foam Football ($2.50) – Sports balls of any kind, Jayden loves ’em. For $2.50, this topped off our purchases.

Our total was $25.30. Not bad for all the goodies we got. Jayden’s gonna be so excited going through his stocking. We broke out the Spinbrush early because I couldn’t wait! Next year, I hope to be more creative – but this was on the fly. So use this guide as a last minute resource :).

Did you stuff stockings this year? What kinds of goodies did you put in them?

I bought all the girls stocking stuffers from Walmart this year. I got them both a SpinBrush, mechanical pencils, notecards, Skittles, travel size lotions, and a few other cute things. I spent under $30 for both of them! I will start doing a stocking for Willie next year since he really does not understand or care too much. I am sure he will have a ball with the wrapping paper and boxes :)
