My Toddler LOVES Him Some Sukey’s Circle

June 19, 2010 · Parenting · leave a comment

I had received an invitation to a puppet show in NYC and since we live in Chicago, I was unable to attend. Receiving invites to events in NYC is nothing rare. I usually just brush them off. Sometimes I’ll ask to be contacted if that same event comes to Chicago. Well, that’s what I did this time around. The PR professional and I got to talking about this wonderful product that I’d like to tell you about. Sukey’s Circle. Remember it. Photo taken 4/25/2010, shortly before operation “no paci”. We’ve watched our two year old son go from gummy grins to cheesey choppers in less than 18 months. We couldn’t wait for the day that his mouth would be filled with teeth. One thing that never crossed our minds? The task that would come with brushing a toddler’s teeth. We’d grab him a cute toothbrush and some tasty toothpaste and everything would be all gravy. Wrong. At our last playgroup, our friend Jill brought over a Shrinky Dinks kit. She originally purchased the kit for her daughter, but she thought it would make a great activity for us moms to do. We grabbed the color pencils, scissors, transfer paper, and design templates and let our creative juices flow while the kids played and colored together. Last Wednesday, our play group headed to the beach. When we left, the weather was lovely. We had taken our jackets off. We were ready for some fun in the sun. As we got closer to the lake, oh boy did things change! The weather seemed to be 10 degrees cooler than it had been when we left and the breeze surely did not come with ease. The conditions certainly weren’t ideal for beaching it… Continue reading at coNectar…I’d love to read your comments there, too :).

April 16, 2010 · Digitally Speaking · leave a comment

Hey buddy, it

Some call me the bargain queen, but I’m certainly not the coupon princess. When it comes to shopping online, however, I can get a little OCD. I will pinch until I can’t pinch any more. People are amazed when I tell them about my fabulous come ups; like my son’s $2 Nike outfit and $4 sneakers. I have a strategy that I continue to follow when shopping online. I stand by it and I’d like to share it with you. Hopefully it will help you on your next online shopping adventure. Continue reading at coNectar…I’d love to read your comments ... Playdate Therapy

April 7, 2010 · Parenting · leave a comment

Park Day March 10, 2010

Before giving birth to my son, I never thought much about playdates. But after he was born and the months began fly by, I started to realize that my boy was growing up. He needed to be around others so that he could learn from them, grow up with them, and embrace childhood together as friends. Thinking about it all gave me an uncomfortable feeling because that meant that I had to interact with other moms. Moms who would be older than I and more advanced in their lives. Moms that may possibly turn their noses up at me because ... CONTINUE READING THIS POST →
