Nice Save is a new application tab on Walmart’s Facebook page that represents Walmart’s commitment to Every Day Low Prices. Each month, Walmart helps its consumers solve a new challenge by connecting them with a community of Facebook fans that have tried-and-true money saving tips. The challenges are each dedicated to a different seasonal theme (the first one is Game Time), and users are asked to submit their solutions within a specific, affordable price point (i.e. Game Day under $50). Some of us Walmart Moms will be hosts of each challenge and Tara of Deal Seeking Mom is up first with her Game Day Challenge!

Check out the brand new app on Walmart’s Facebook Page to see Tara’s Game Day money saving tips and share tips of your own! Be sure to encourage your family and friends to Like, Share, and/or Comment on your tips to keep the challenge going! Psst… the deadline to submit a Game Day tip is September 18th. The top ranked ideas at the end of the submission period will be featured in Tara’s wrap-up video!

Walmart improved their coupon policy!

Walmart Coupon Policy 2011

Walmart has updated their policy since this post! Check it out HERE!

Couponing is something that I am currently struggling with. I honestly don’t feel like treasure hunting for coupons specifically for products that I use. It seems like most of the products that we buy don’t have coupons available. And we don’t like switching brands just because there’s a coupon for it. Some things we’re willing to switch… toothpaste maybe. Eh, guess I’ll have to try harder – when I feel like it. Right now, it seems like a chore. Eventually, I’ll get on the good foot and reap the rewards. I’m seriously considering The Grocery Game. Have any of you guys tried it? I need all the help I can get towards my couponing journey.

When meeting at the Walmart HQ last year (my, how time flies), there were a lot of thoughts expressed concerning Walmart’s Coupon Policy. I think my fellow coupon savvy Walmart Moms did a great job at being heard because now Walmart has rolled out a NEW Coupon Policy and they are making it available to consumers to keep as a resource! Here’s a copy to print out for yourself and present it if you have any issues using your coupons.

Two additions to the policy that struck me were the fact that Walmart will now accept competitor’s coupons as long as there’s a specific item and price listed on the coupon. They won’t accept competitor’s coupons for dollars/cents or percentage off, BOGO, or double/triple-value coupons, though. We try to buy most of our groceries from Walmart. They’re cheaper and they’re closer and we go to another grocer for meat. Store hopping is something we rarely do, so those coupons that I receive from other stores often go unused. NOT.ANYMORE. Another great addition to the policy is that Walmart will give change or overage if a coupon exceeds a purchase. Score! Score! Score!

As you can see, I am super excited about the changes to Walmart’s Coupon Policy. Armed with The Grocery Game, competitor’s coupons, and coupon overages, I can’t fail!
