I’m feeling pretty domestic lately.

I’ve joined Popinjay, a weekly concept photo challenge. The challenge two weeks ago (give me a break) was domestic. The week before was selfless and this week is caged. Join us why don’tchu? I’ll catch up.

P.S. Do you have any recipe recommendations for green beans? I canned a whole lot of ‘em (in jars) and honestly, I’m a lil’ green bean challenged.

There are times when I lay thinking about life and…death. Usually past my bedtime.

My heart drops down to the pit of my stomach; I gasp for air.

My head spins although my eyes are closed. I open them, and I snap out of it.

I’m constantly thinking what can I do to ensure that my obituary is interesting?

Is that selfish of me?

I want to live a fulfilling life; explore, dream, pursue all of my passions. I want to be there for people – something that does not come easy because I am afraid of being a let down. Though, I want to help people genuinely when my heart tells me so, when I’m ready – not because I’m looking for some halo, not because it’s “the right thing to do”.

I want to be the grandmother, greatgrandmother even… that all the kids gravitate to. Grandma who creates memories through her lovin’ from the oven; photographs too.

I want to create traditions. I want to be spontaneous. Ride my life to the moon and back.

Life as I see it can be a hit or a miss.

My life’s gonna be a hit. That, I’m confident of.

The is a photo I took (and cropped) of a painting by Justin Vining. It hangs in the Uptown Café in Valparaiso, IN. It is the first thing that I noticed when I stepped foot in the café for the first time. The colors are simply amazing. I’m participating in Popinjay, a weekly concept photo challenge. Popinjay: An Update From The Dork

Well hello there,

It seems that lately I’ve been coming around only for Popinjay, right? If I don’t get anything else posted, I make sure I do them, even if they are late. To break the pattern, I decided to post a few posts (below) before posting my habitually late Popinjay.

This week’s challenge was DORKY. Next week’s challenge is GUILTY. Join us.

Here are my dorky submissions. I couldn’t just pick one.

Yes, I still have floppy disks and stuffed animals.

I’m working on scheduling reviews and giveaways so that they don’t come flowing in at once. Let’s pretend like I didn’t just do 2 campaigns back-to-back, mmkay? I was thinking something like once every other week as long as I have written a substantial amount of personal posts. Speaking of personal posts, check out Transitioning From Co-sleeping, pretty please?

Oh and I kind of redesigned the place. I’m 100% satisfied with how things look. I also made a ‘lil button. It’s not your average 125×125 button; it’s 125×50 pixels.

I know, I know, I’m such a rebel.

Popinjay: Toolbox of Hope

My laptop is very dear to me. I call it my toolbox. Since it’s from the Toughbook series, it is built to withstand drops, spills, and other toddler mistreatment. It also has a cool handle for easy grabbing. Inside, it holds everything that allows me to work from home. Everything I need to edit photos, design graphics and sites, set up auctions, write, and network with companies. With the current economy, the start of a new year, and me leaving the blog that was our main source of income, things have started to slow down. It is my hope that I can generate some consistent income with my toolbox. Inside it holds a lot of hope.
