The Winter Olympics are here and I’ll admit that I am more excited about crafting for the theme than the actual event. Since Jayden is at an impressionable age, I figured we’d celebrate the upcoming games with some fun crafts. This week, we made an Olympic ring display, laurel leaf crown, and a gold medal using materials we had on hand. It’s always exciting when I don’t have to make a run to the store… especially in this weather. Each and every craft and recipe I pull off without shopping leaves me feeling like a boss. ;) If your craft supplies are in need of replenishing, you can find everything at Walmart.
5 paper plates
Washable paint (blue, yellow, black, green, red)
Cut out the centers of each plate. Paint each individual plate ring one of the five solid colors and let dry. We did it backwards. Link rings together and tape each ring closed.

Laurel Leaf Crown
1 paper plate
3 sheets green construction paper
Cut out the center of the paper plate. Make a leaf shaped template to trace and cut leaves from green paper. Glue the leafs on to the plate, staggering them a bit.
Gold Duck tape
1 mason jar lid
Cut a 20 inch piece of ribbon. Cover the front of the lid in gold Duck tape. Flip lid over and place the tip of the ribbon (folded in half) in the center of the lid. Cover the back of the lid in gold Duck tape securing the ribbon.
Jayden serving face. We are in the market for an agent. ;)
