Nursery Design Trends In 2017

Nursery decor has come a long way since having Jayden… almost NINE years ago. We’re not going to talk about how fast time is flying. Nope. But what we’re going to do is indulge in a little design therapy, shall we?

So back when we were planning Jayden’s nursery, I chose jungle themed decor. It was such a cute set, but since co-sleeping worked so well for us, we decided not to have a nursery and use his bedroom as am office. Coincidentally, our crib had been recalled before taking it out of the box, so I guess that was a sign. It took me six whole years to sell his crib set. It made a great gift to the wife of customer who bought it.

It’s funny how trends change. Back in 2008, it was all about the trains, monkeys, pink and brown polka dots, and zebra prints. And now, it’s about about creating a neutral and more mature space baby can grow into and I’m here for it. The boys’ room has had the same theme for six years, thanks to me shopping the teen department for linens and decor.

Twenty-sixteen brought us adorable woodland themes and gorgeous geometric wallpapers. What new trends will be popular this time around?

76th & Newbury sought out some of the savviest nursery design experts in the US and asked them to share their predictions for the top nursery decorating trends for 2017. Here’s what they had to say on upcoming nursery design trends that are predicted to blow up in 2017.

I can certainly agree with turning your nursery into a sanctuary that both you and baby can enjoy! Our master bedroom currently operates as just that aaaand the office. We’re all about that small living life. My current decorating style and blog design is certainly on point with the trends. I had a good chuckle and yaaassss moment going over the info-graphic, so I thought it was apropos to share!

Hope y’all are hanging tight. I’m exhausted, but will be catching up on some Z’s this weekend. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things and share some unseen photos from 2016 aside from the usual contracted partnerships. As always, thanks for sticking around. I feel I don’t say it as often as I should. 🙂

Happy FriYay!

I never knew there was such a thing as nursery trends. I have no kids or nieces or nephews so this is a whole new world to me. Lol

I love these color schemes. Soft neutral colors are more my thing, so this is right up my alley.

My girls share a room and I'm moving soon so I definitely want to decorate their new room super cute! I'm loving the aqua and coral color scheme. I'm saving this post for when I start the decor process!!

Nurseries have changed so much. My son's was a jungle theme with greens and browns. It was so pretty! LOL, if I had another child, I think I would lose my mind decorating.
