Since we decided not to move this Fall, I decided to take on a few more EASY home projects. This project was all about organizing our kid spaces. With Tiny Human‘s due date right around the corner, organizing has become THAT much more important. The areas of our home that needed the most improvement were the playroom and Jayden’s room. The random toys strewn about really stressed me out (Omg, omg, the baby’s gonna come and our house is going to be a disaster!). I’d pack up things just so I didn’t have to see/kick them. That kinda defeats the purpose of having toys. What good are they if they are forgotten about?
Since the playroom is between the living room and kitchen, we needed a better solution for little pieces. We put the train table in the office to create more space and eliminate more little pieces. The Tot Tutors Toy Organizer created an organized home for Legos, cars, trains, and other odds and ends. There was even room to create a laptop nook using the Sauder Beginnings Kids Table and Stool Set.
Remember the Bookcase I decorated? I was able to create a space inside for Jayden’s puzzles using Mainstays Collapsible Bins. Aren’t they cute?
Next up, was Jayden’s room. I don’t like to keep a lot of toys in his room. I feel like they subtract living space and distract during bedtime. He does have a few plush toys, but keeping them all in his bed wasn’t aesthetically pleasing and they all kept ending up on the floor. Placing the Sauder Beginnings Toy Chest under his junior loft took care of that problem.
Since the baby will be sharing dressers and closet with Jayden, I’ve been working on making more room for clothes. The Mainstays Youth Stacking Bins currently serve as a home to cloth diapers and baby things.
Overall, I am very pleased with the organization of our kid spaces. Everything now has a place with easy access and I’m not stressing anymore!

I have those same bins in pink and purple and I LOVE them! Makes cleaning up a breeze! I am loving that toy bin too, I just might have to get one of those for my 3 yr. old son. I like the collapsable ins too....Thanks for the ideas!

The collapsible bins are great. He's been able to just grab them and dump out his puzzles. I'm loving the toybox, it's keeping me from kicking and stepping on his little friends, lol.

Great job! I was going nuts before Jude came trying to organize stuff too. The nesting and all that...
The good thing about having two boys is that you automatically don't double your toy collection. And I'm obsessive about clutter, so that was a benefit (despite really wanting that girl). :)

I was stressing before finding out the gender because I knew that would mean DOUBLE the stuff if we had a girl. Seriously, I was all "Where will we put her dollhouse and girly things?" I was hellbent on buying/gathering gender neutral gear and things because I didn't want pink all over the house when baby #3 may a boy (planning further ahead, lol). We just went through the baby boxes and Greg said that it's a good thing we're having a boy since we have all this stuff and I said if it were a girl, she'd be wearing those SAME clothes with matching bows in her hair, lol.

Thanks! Has Dwayne been on you about your junky corners? LOL
I'm still on a high over the maternity photos. I'm waiting on copies and what you saw on FB was 70ish of 500+. I am definitely feeling like a grown up!
