The Tatums Go To Disney: A Photo Book Made Just For Us

It’s been a year since our trip to Disney World and I’m just now finishing the edits of the photos that we took. Immediately after the trip, I edited about half; just enough to share in a few blog and Insta posts and to slap up on the wall. Being such a exciting life event, I defintely wanted to do something special with the photos vs letting them sit in digital space.

It’s funny how things work out. Weeks before the anniversary of our trip, I was offered the opportunity to create a premium Shutterfly photobook. I have tons and tons of photos, but it was a no-brainer as to which ones were going into this complementary book. After shouting a few “yassses” and doing a happy dance at my desk, I got back to editing the rest of those Disney photos that I had sorta forgotten about.

I opened up our Disney folder and started reminiscing. I  found videos that I hadn’t even watched. Like… how? Is this what my life has come to? I definitely need to get it together. I know I get overwhelmed and things, but dang, I got caught slippin’ on Disney. DISNEY people. *hangs head in shame* I also found myself getting emotional. I’ve never found myself to be one of those people… although I did get a little weepy when I met Mickey when I was 16. But other than that I’ve been pretty stable with my emotions when it comes to Disney.

But being able to go with my kids, seeing the magic through their eyes and soaking up all things happy… when you feel like you’ve been through the ringer is a good feeling. I understand why families continue to make it rain over The Mouse even as admissions continue to rise. It’s definitely a great escape from adulting and current affairs. So as I created our Disney photo book, I, for the upteenth time wished we could go back. *tries not to weep*

I chose a 10×10 book with glossy pages and matte hard photo cover. I went with an overall simple modern white theme as I wanted to focus on the photos. I did play with a few of the embellishments, but for the most part, I went with clean layouts with sans serif captions.

Y’all.

When the book arrived and I opened that bright orange package… I felt something.

When I say it is perfect, I mean PERFECT! Here. Look. I almost photographed the entire book to share, but then this post would be too dang long.

Our Disney Photo Book With Shutterfly

I’m going to print our autographs out on sticker paper and place them on the lovely autographs page.

😂😂😂

Happy. Lucky. Grateful.

When you’ve barely slept, want to get back on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Mommy makes you stop climbing walls.

See Miss Honey up there? She wasn’t here for Tink. She thought she was the original Pixie.

We absolutely LOVE our Shutterfly photo book. The quality is phenomenal. I’m already planning our next book. I think it’ll be a baby book of all of the kids from birth to their 2nd birthdays. Akilah turns 2 in August, so I could get a head start by gathering photos. I’m going to have to dig in the vault for Jayden’s. Where’s life’s pause button? Sigh.

Definitely consider making a custom photo book for yourself or as a gift. For those pressed for time, all you have to do is select a few options, upload your photos, and let Shutterfly do the rest with their Make My Book service. By selecting the Make My Book option, a designer will design your book within 3 business days. Then, you can order your book as is or personalize it with your own finishing touches. This service is only $9,99 when ordering your book. Creating a gorgeous photo book has never been easier. See for yourself!

Now that my son is close to graduating from high school I think making photobooks will be a great way to memorialize many of our memories and trips together.
